A HOMEOWNER says she was left "so confused" after eight Americans rocked up in her garden and started waving at her.

Lanna Tolland, from Glasgow, was relaxing on her sofa on Wednesday when she noticed a mob of grinning people at her front gate.


The cheery group then let themselves into her garden and started to trundle up the garden path waving at a very confused Lanna.

And it wasn't long before the late night visitors started posing up for pictures in front of her home, GlasgowLive reported.

Gobsmacked Lanna – whose dogs were now going "mental" at the trespassers – then grabbed her camera to snap a picture and shared it to Twitter.

In the Tweet, which has since gone viral, Lanna said: “No way. Lying on the couch with the blind still open and I see eight people I don’t know at the gate waving at me I’m like??"

Lanna said she then asked the group what on earth they were doing in her garden at 10:30pm on a Wednesday.

She explained:"Open the window n they’re all AMERICAN giving it “our great grandparents used to own this house can we have a look around” I thought this only happened on tele.”

The Glaswegian added: “They’re all getting pictures!! Dugs are going mental what is going on.”

The bizarre encounter – which has been liked almost 14,000 times – left Twitter users in stitches, while others even claimed to have experienced similar encounters.

One user responded: "Nahhhh basically same thing happened to me last week. I’m howling."

Another chimed: "Same thing happened to me some years ago, I gave them the old house number plate to take away with them, they were well chuffed."

While a third added: "This happened to me once.

"7 long lost cousins at the doorstep and the weirdest thing was I actually knew exactly who their ancestor was from some research I was doing on the family tree."
