EASTER Sunday, which falls on April 4 in 2021, is the celebration of the concept of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The popular religious holiday comes two days after Good Friday.

Is there mail on Easter Sunday?

Post offices in the US are closed on Sundays, holiday or not.

However, the USPS does deliver Priority Mail Express and some Amazon packages on Sundays.

Some post offices do remain open a few Sundays before the Christmas holiday due to a high volume of mail.

The USPS will also be closed on Memorial Day (May 31), which is the next recognized holiday on the calendar.

People should consider that hours vary for every individual post office.

There are over 34,000 post offices in all 50 states, according to SavingAdvice.com.

Most banks will also be closed on Easter as they are usually shuttered on Sundays as well.

Is Easter a federal holiday?

Easter is a much-celebrated religious holiday, but it is not a federal holiday.

According to History.com: "The holiday concludes the 'Passion of Christ,' a series of events and holidays that begins with Lent – a 40-day period of fasting, prayer and sacrifice – and ends with Holy Week, which includes Holy Thursday (the celebration of Jesus’ Last Supper with his 12 Apostles, also known as 'Maundy Thursday'), Good Friday (on which Jesus’ crucifixion is observed) and Easter Sunday."

Easter falls on a Sunday between April 4 and May 8 each year, according to Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

There are quite a few non-religious traditions associated with Easter, and many of them include Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny.

The exact origins of the Easter Bunny tradition are unknown, although some historians believe it arrived in America with German immigrants in the 1700s," according to History.com.

"Rabbits are, in many cultures, known as enthusiastic procreators, so the arrival of baby bunnies in springtime meadows became associated with birth and renewal."
