COPS will dig for the remains of missing student Elizabeth Chau after serial killer Levi Bellfield confessed to her murder.
The former nightclub bouncer, 54, told detectives he hid the 19-year-old's body in woodland 24 years ago.
Now, Metropolitan Police say they will dig for Elizabeth's remains.
Elizabeth, a computer studies student at Thames Valley University, was last seen a mile from her home in west London in 1999.
Bellfield first claimed to have murdered her in a conversation with a prison visitor last year.
The Met told The Sun Online: "On Tuesday 9 May 2023, a 54-year-old male was interviewed under caution. Inquiries continue.

Levi Bellfield questioned by cops over unsolved murder of teen
"We can confirm we remain in contact with Elizabeth Chau’s family.
"At this time we will not be providing an ongoing commentary. We have no comment to make.”
The Sun revealed this week how the monster drew a map for officers where he claims Elizabeth's body is buried.
Bellfield's solicitor Theresa Clark said: "He tells me he feels it's important that her family have some closure. He wants to see justice done because they have had to live this for so long and that's unfair. He gains nothing from it, there is no positive publicity for him."

Bellfield is serving life in jail after murdering Marsha McDonnell, 19, and 22-year-old Amélie Delagrange, as well as attempting to murder Kate Sheedy.
He was also convicted of murdering 13-year-old schoolgirl Milly Dowler.
Two detectives went to the high-security prison accompanied by Bellfield’s solicitor Theresa Clark, who has handed his signed statement to police.
The serial killer then repeated the confession to the officers.
A source said: "Bellfield was interviewed under caution in the presence of a solicitor.
“He co-operated with police and repeated his confession that he abducted and killed her.
“He has also given detectives the location of where he says Elizabeth’s body is buried, which is close to a sports ground in west London.
“Detectives are now analysing whether they should carry out a search for the body and if they have enough to charge him.
“They have taken it very seriously and appeared to believe what he was telling them.
“The case is unsolved and Elizabeth disappeared in an area close to where Bellfield carried out other known attacks.
“It clearly fits his profile, which is why they are taking it seriously.”
The Sun told how Bellfield's statement contains admissions he carried out the attack with an associate and details how he bundled Elizabeth into a van.
Thames University student Elizabeth vanished a mile from her home after handing in a paper.
At the time, Bellfield would have been aged 31 and working as a nightclub bouncer.
