POLICE say a man confessed to murdering three young children and shooting his girlfriend in the head in a Texas bloodbath, according to reports.
Junaid Mehmood, 27, was said to have called 911 to tell cops "I killed my family" late last night in Texas City.
Officers said they were responding to a "welfare check" at the victims' apartment when they made the horrific discovery of three dead children.
The victims were Angela Pilot, five, Prince Larry Brown, two, and two-month-old Ashanti Mehmood.
Ashanti was Junaid's infant child, ABC reports.
The kids' mother, who had been shot in the head, was still alive at the scene and was raced to hospital for urgent treatment.
Kimaria Nelson, 24, was identified as the wounded mother and was described as Mehmood's girlfriend by her father, it is claimed.
Mehmood was taken into custody within a few hours of the victims being found, with investigators saying he was "incoherent" and emotional.
He also reportedly confessed to killing the children while on the phone with police dispatchers.

Mehmood has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held without bond.
Texas City Police are continuing their investigation with more charges expected to be filed.
The children's cause of death has not been disclosed.
