NEW Year's Day is here and after much celebrating it's time to let 2019 really begin.
From inspiring quotes and unusual traditions to Snapchat's new feature, here are some last-minute things to help you celebrate New Year's Day in style.
What inspirational New Year's quotes are there?
If you're looking forward to a fresh start, there's no better way to kick off 2018 than by ruminating on some inspirational words of wisdom.
Here are a few of our favourite quotes:
- TS Eliot: For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice. - Oprah Winfrey: Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.
- Alfred Tennyson: Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, "It will be happier."
- Neil Gaiman: Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.
- William Shakespeare: Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.
- CS Lewis: There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
What New Year's traditions are there around the world?
In the UK we may quaff champagne, light fireworks and link arms for a rousing rendition of Auld Lang Syne at New Year – but that's nothing compared to some parts of the world.
The Spanish, for example, stuff their mouths with 12 grapes when the clock strikes midnight, and it's considered bad luck not to eat the lot.
In Denmark, it's considered good fortune to smash a plate on your friend's front step, while a part of Scotland's Hogmanay celebrations is to swing blazing balls of fire through the street.
South American countries have their own quirks, with New Year celebrations in Ecuador including burning paper-filled scarecrows, and in Brazil it is traditional to jump seven waves for luck on the beaches of Rio Di Janeiro.
And you fancy eating until you burst, head to Estonia – it's considered good fortune to feast seven, nine or 12 times when calling in the New Year.

How do you use Snapchat's Year End Story 2018 feature?
Just like last year, Snapchat is rolling out a way for users to review their digital year, in the form of your most popular Snapchat stories.
The first thing you have to do is make sure you're app is up to date.
Once you have the newest version, look underneath the camera button, and you will see the Memories button.
At the top of the screen, there will be a section that says: My 2018 in Snaps.
You can click the pencil icon to edit the story, or the download button to save it.
Finally – and for most social media users – most importantly, click the arrow icon to send you story to your Snapchat friends.
