PORN star Dakota Skye died two years after her mom's tragic death, her devastated aunt has revealed.
Linda Arden told The US Sun how the adult film actress – found dead aged just 27 in a trailer in LA on Wednesday – had battled demons all of life.
Arden, 55, said: "Her real life story and how she came to be in that industry, has truly been a tragedy.
"She died almost exactly two years after her mother, my baby sister's, death which was caused by addiction and alcoholism."
In 2017 Skye – whose real name was Lauren Scott – was arrested after allegedly smacking her then boyfriend Robert Anderson in the face after sex.
Her aunt, 55, added: "Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse."
Linda said: "She was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you've lived it.
"I loved her unconditionally and I just wanted happiness for her.
"She no longer has to walk through this world in pain in her own prison and that gives me comfort to know she no longer has to fight the voices and images that haunted her."
A cause of death has not been confirmed but Arden said her niece an alcoholic and had battled an addiction with fentanyl.
Two of her grandparents had also died of COVID-19 within the last year and Arden revealed Scott was estranged from her husband "who loved her dearly".
It is not clear who Lauren had been with in the hours before her death. The US Sun has contacted LA police for comment.
Her aunt added: "She was the sweetest girl. She lived with me when she was a baby. She loved her family. All of her money she gave back to help her mom and brothers.
"She was an addict and an alcoholic. But really all she was doing was searching for love, someone to care about her.
"I was so scared about her. She was in so much pain. I thought she was going to make it. She had been clean for weeks."
Dakota – who began her career in 2013 – was found dead just weeks after being trolled for posing topless at a George Floyd mural.
Arden added: "She told me she had been bullied online."
Scott had written: "Happy #GeorgeFloyd day in #santabarbara <3 #dakotaskye equality&fair treatment for all. Dope mural."
But her fans were less than impressed with one writing: "This is some serious disrespectful bulls*** Lauren."
Another said: "wtf what does flashing have to do with George Floyd death."
Floyd died after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by a police officer's knee in Minneapolis in May last year.
Skye replied: "I’m celebrating BAD cops being checked with abusing there authority against human beings .. hello.
"No human being should die getting arrested."
Following her death Skye's friend James Bartholet wrote on Twitter: "RIP Dakota Skye, you are in our thoughts, our hearts, and prayers Our thoughts and prayers are also going out to her family."
Her added: "Dakota was a dear friend and part of our industry family, and we are saddened by her loss.
"She still had so much more to give to the world and to the industry, and I'm just very saddened and at a loss for words."
The US Sun has contacted the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office.
