Spot the cat! Cheeky puss finds the perfect hiding place inside his owner’s Christmas tree

This is the moment a family’s cat climbed up and ‘vanished’ inside their Christmas tree. 

Hailey Forbes, 27, shared the video of her three-year-old tabby Dexter making a nest inside the tree at her home in Glasgow.

Cats are well known for clambering up Christmas trees but few have the camouflaging abilities of this moggie.

The clip captures curious Dexter in the tree as he explores the festive decoration

He peeps through the branches as he sits burrowed inside the tree

Footage shows him nestled in among the white foliage, baubles and fairy lights. 

The cheeky pet even appears to wink as Ms Forbes zooms in to reveal his hiding place. 

Ms Forbes, a technician, said: ‘I have had my cat since he was about 15 weeks old.

‘He climbs up the tree every single night.’

However, Dexter’s antics have taken their toll on the festive decoration.

His owner added: ‘He has broken the tree branches by sitting on them and has also smashed many baubles.

‘Dexter has a brother of the same age called Arlo, he’s the angelic one and never goes near the tree.

‘My friends and family found the videos very funny and cute, I also heard a few told you so’s.’

Ms Forbes posted the clips in a series of TikToks with the most popular one at more than 1.8 million views.

People in the comments found Dexter’s cheeky wink and antics hilarious.

Jacqueline Kilikita said: ‘The wink, I’m wheezing.’

A comment from a user called Casey also said: ‘He’s definitely hatching a diabolical plan to destroy the tree.’ 

A nicolaroberts129 added: ‘Just makes it all the more beautiful if you ask me.’

On another post of Dexter in the tree, user Mandy commented: ‘And I thought my toddler was a hazard to the tree, but I was wrong. Could be a cat in the house.’
