Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman, 60, has taken to Twitter to open up about her antics at the famous horse racing festival last year. Posting a throwback picture for her 458,200 followers to see, the TV presenter reminisced about attending, saying she “rarely” missed the annual soiree. Cheltenham festival is going ahead this year but behind closed doors due to coronavirus restrictions.
Rarely missed one #CheltenhamFestival
Carol re-tweeted the photo of herself and two friends at the festival, posing together and smiling for the camera.
She wrote: “Rarely missed one #CheltenhamFestival.
“Used to go with Whiters every year.”
The TV star went on to hilariously admit crashing the box belonging to The Irish Post, before singing the Welsh national anthem at full pelt.
Carol candidly revealed: “Obvs [obviously] I can’t remember much other than ending up in the @IrishPostSport box and singing our Welsh anthem on a chair well into the night.”
The best-selling author went on to share good wishes to Ireland.
She signed off: “Happy #StPatricksDay to all my Irish friends. Love Ya so much.”
Her tweet came in response to a post shared by her pal, Countess Bathurst.
Tagging Carol and their friend, actress Lisa Maxwell, the Countess posted the throwback snap.
She captioned it: “Missing #CheltenhamFestival – next year ladies? @thelisamaxwell @carolvorders.”
Carol replied to her friend: “By hell I’m staying one night at yours next year Lady B….gotta be done.”
The Countess replied with a generous offer: “You can stay all week if you like! Sounds like a definite plan.”

Carol warned her friend that she may come to regret her offer, before adding that she can’t wait to be reunited with her after lockdown restrictions are lifted.
She added: “You may regret saying that publicly”, followed by a row of laughing emojis.
“Can’t wait for a stroll together soon… when we’re allowed obvs.”(sic)
Last year the former Countdown star made an eye-popping entrance at the horse-racing festival, in a skintight jumpsuit.
Wearing all-black, it featured a zip-up front highlighting Carol’s slender waist and voluptuous shape.
Her sexy all-in-one was left undone at the top and came complete with a chunky, matching belt.
She wore it with a coordinated jumper to keep out the cold, as well as a towering pair of ankle boots.
Carol finished off her outfit with a camel coat, featuring over-sized lapels, and a khaki, wide-brimmed hat.
