Naga Munchetty, 46, has reacted to Sky News Political Correspondent Kate McCann’s latest work update today. Kate is set to join News UK in the new role of Political Editor at talkTV in March.

In view of her 110,000 followers, she wrote: “Delighted to be joining talkTV as political editor in March alongside a top group of people.

“I’ll miss our brilliant team at Sky but I’m excited to get stuck in and show you what we’ve got planned!”

The BBC Breakfast star took to her Twitter account, where she boasts 264,000 followers, to heap praise on her fellow broadcaster.

Naga simply typed: “Congratulations x.”

Soon after posting about her move, Kate was inundated with messages of support from fans and friends.

ManchSg tweeted: “Congratulations – I am so pleased for you Kate. You are genuinely one of the best out there.

“Always so measured and thorough and never going for the drama.

They added: “You are a great journalist and Talktv will be the better for your presence for sure.”

Sky News weather presenter Nazaneen Ghaffar said: “CONGRATULATIONS Kate!

“I am not surprised you have been snapped up.

“The best of the best!” she concluded.

Sky News correspondent Ashna Hurynag penned: “Huge huge congratulations Kate!

“I’m gutted for us but you will be fantastic x”

Before joining Sky in 2018, Kate worked at The Daily Telegraph as a senior political correspondent.

She also worked for The Sun as a political correspondent.

Speaking of her new appointment, Kate said she was “excited” to become part of talkTV, a new channel due to launch later this year.

Kate said: “talkTV will be a new and distinctive voice in UK news and we’re determined to bring top quality journalism and analysis to people in the way they want it.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the launch team and to be part of something that will shake up how we think about political reporting.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
