Emma Stone cradles her belly, fueling pregnancy buzz, more news

Emma Roberts pictured cradling her belly on a walk, fueling pregnancy speculation

Emma Stone’s never been one to share much about her personal life, especially with regard to her now-husband, Dave McCary. So it’s no surprise that the Oscar winner, 32, has stayed mum on rumors she and Dave are expecting their first child together. That silence might get harder to maintain after a new batch of photos was published by the Daily Mail this week, though. The pics show Emma enjoying a sunny walk with a friend while gently cradling what looks like a large bump on her belly. According to JustJared, Emma recently canceled plans to star opposite Brad Pitt in “Babylon,” leading to more speculation she’s gearing up to welcome a child. The pregnancy rumors first popped up back in September.

Blake Shelton faces backlash over new song, ‘Minimum Wage’

The American job market’s taken a major hit as a result of the pandemic, fueling record unemployment claims and adding potential health risks to millions of low-wage jobs. In other words … maybe not the best time for a guy worth $100 million to invoke a “minimum wage” metaphor. Alas, that didn’t stop Blake Shelton from debuting a new song on New Year’s Eve in which he sings that the love he gets from his (even wealthier) fiance, Gwen Stefani, “can make a man feel rich on,” yep, “minimum wage.” Blake performed the new single on NBC’s New Year’s Eve special last week and by Monday, the backlash only seemed to be growing.
“Does anyone else find Blake Shelton’s ‘Minimum Wage’ song to be incredibly tone deaf to our country’s current state?” asked one fan on Twitter. Others quoted the specific line, “Girl, your love can make a man feel rich on minimum wage,” and shared their appalled reactions. “A mega-millionaire romanticizing minimum wage is peak 2020,” another user posted. While some fans defended “The Voice” star, others agreed that “the timing for Minimum Wage isn’t great,” as one avowed fan put it. The fact that Gwen’s net worth is estimated to be about $150 million didn’t help matters.”What?! @blakeshelton is #MinimumWage even for real?” asked another Twitter user. “Yes of course @gwenstefani can make a dude on minimum wage feel rich cuz she’s a millionaire. Are you working at the Home Depot now or something? Wanna pay my rent?”

Beyonce shares a rare look at her life as a mom in 2020 wrapup post

On Monday, Beyoncé kicked off 2021 the same way she kicks off most years, by sharing a picture retrospective from the previous 12 months on her website. Reflecting on 2020, Bey shared a short video that mixed up footage of her kids, Blue Ivy and twins, Sir and Rumi, with her new music efforts, her BEYGood Foundation programs that provided free COVID-19 testing and supported Black-owned businesses in different communities. In one cute moment, Bey asks Rumi to share what she did over the summer and gets no shortage of side-eye from her daughter. Below the video, Bey shared previously unseen selfies and other pics, most of which seemed to come from her beach-centric 38th birthday. Above the sweet shots, Bey’s video ended with a pointed message that was another theme for her previous year: “Go vote!”

Halsey launches her own ’emo revival’-inspired beauty line

Halsey has joined the growing ranks of celebs with their own beauty lines. The singer announced her big news on Twitter and in a feature for Byrdie.com this week, revealing that her new line of 40 “about-face” products were inspired by her love of ’90s makeup styles. “I’m just paying homage to the style of makeup and the makeup influences that I’ve always loved: very ’90s-heavy, very Myspace scene queen, very emo revival,” she told Byrdie, adding that the line is also all about the idea of self-acceptance. “I admire the tremendous amount of skill that it takes to do color correction, but as someone who has spent a really long time trying to look different than I do, it was really relieving for me to be able to look at myself and go, ‘hey, that’s your face,'” she explained. “There’s nothing you can do about it. So you better love it, because that’s the one you got.” The singer’s who’s long done her own makeup, including for photo shoots, is focused on texture and light for her first collection, which features products starting around $17. According to The Cut, about-face begins shipping Jan. 25, but has already started to sell out.

Justin Bieber denies report claiming he’s ‘studying to become a minister’

Justin Bieber’s calling out a report from OK! Magazine as “fake news.” On Monday, following the tabloid’s claim Justin is thinking about pursuing a leadership role at Hillsong Church, the singer hopped on his Instagram Stories to respond. “IM NOT STUDYING TO BE A MINISTER OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT. HAVE NO DESIRE FOR THAT THIS IS FAKE NEWS,” he shared (via the Daily Mail). “AND BTW HILLSONG IS NOT MY CHURCH.. FOR CLARITY I AM PART OF CHURCHOME,” he added later in another message. Before signing off he told followers that he doesn’t ascribe to the notion that praying is tied to a particular location. “Church is not a place,” he wrote. “‘We are the church. We don’t need a building to connect with god. God is with us wherever we are.” Justin’s corrections come after Hillsong fired its popular pastor, Carl Lentz, who Justin reportedly saw as a father figure for a time prior to the end of his relationship with Hillsong. Carl admitted publicly that he’d cheated on his wife shortly after he was asked to leave Hillsong.

Demi Lovato returns to the studio

It’s been almost a year since Demi Lovato returned to the stage, wowing crowds at the 2020 Grammy Awards and the Super Bowl in the course of one week. A month later, she confirmed to Zane Lowe that she was putting the final touches on a new album — just before the pandemic blew up and wreaked havoc on new music release plans. Now, it sounds like Demi’s finally getting closer to a finished product. Over the weekend,Scooter Braun tweeted, “Demi is in the studio” alongside an eyeball emoji. The singer picked up on the tweet and promptly shared this on her Instagram Story (via ET): “*PHONE RINGS – SCOOTER’S CALLING* / ME: HEY CAN’T TALK, IN THE BOOTH. / @SCOOTERBRAUN: adding the tweet from Braun.” She followed the post up with some laughing emojis to confirm the news while teasing her longtime manager. Speaking to Zane back in March on his “New Music Daily” Apple Music show, Demi said her Grammy and Super Bowl performances made her take another look at what she’d been planning to release. “I’m actually [still] finishing up some of the album,” she said at the time. “It was gonna be done a lot earlier… and then, um, after my performances, we kinda went back to the drawing board. I thought, ‘What is this album missing? Am I really putting out the best work that I possibly can?’ So I’m just taking a little bit more time with it.” Demi’s last full length studio album was “Tell Me You Love Me,” which came out the year before her 2018 overdose and subsequent rehab. In 2020, she released a handful of singles, including the politically tinged, pre-election “Commander in Chief.”

It’s already been a difficult year for Larry, who lost a son, Andy, to a heart attack, and a daughter, Chaia, to lung cancer complications in 2020. The year prior to that, Larry himself had two serious health scares — a stroke and a heart attack. As of Monday, it was unclear whether he’d been released.
