Hero Fiennes Tiffin‘s new movie After We Fell is out in theaters in the United States now!
The 23-year-old returns as bad boy Hardin for the third film, which was filmed in Bulgaria last year during the pandemic.
In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his character’s bad/toxic behavior, not romanticizing that in the movies and how he treats Tessa (played by Josephine Langford), his love interest.
See what he said inside…
“It’s one of those things where none of it is malicious. It all comes from a good, honest, true place,” Hero told Stylecaster about how Hardin treats Tessa. “Naturally, because of his imperfect attachment and behavior he’s learned from growing up, the trauma that he’s dealing with is very difficult for him.”
Hero also talked about not romanticizing the bad behavior in the movies.
“It’s a fine line to walk. We are making a romance, and it’s supposed to be entertaining. A lot of the nature of the relationship isn’t perfect, but it’s something we were always conscious of, trying not to glorify it too much,” he said.
“But ultimately, it’s a very difficult fine line to tread because you don’t want to glorify it and make anyone think that’s a good way to be, but at the same time, in the world of cinema, that is somewhat entertaining. It’s a balance we were conscious of and hopefully we balanced it,” he added.
Be sure to catch After We Fell, which is out in theaters now. The fourth and final film, After Ever Happy, will be out likely in 2022.
