Jack Brooksbank's Friend Erica Pelosini Speaks Out About "Misinterpreted" Topless Yacht Photos

In case you missed this particular royal news: over the weekend, photos emerged of Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, hanging on a yacht in Capri with several friends. The vibe? Swim trunks and bikinis. The photos of Jack prompted a lot of raised brows, with the Daily Mail writing in its headline, “Good luck explaining these photographs to Eugenie, Jack!”

But turns out Jack was in Capri for the UNICEF Gala, which his brand Casamigos was sponsoring. Meanwhile, he was on the yacht with Casamigos global director of events and partnerships Rachel Zalis, and guests Erica Pelosini and Maria Buccellati.

While Jack and Eugenie haven’t spoken out about the photos, Erica went ahead and told The Daily Mail (via E! News), “I usually never go topless, but my bikini got wet and I decided to take it off. I know it does not look right for Jack and his family. I felt very bad for them when I saw the images of him surrounded by three women because his wife was not there.”

She added, “It led people to make improper suggestions and jump to conclusions and it’s very hurtful that people are thinking this. I’m very sorry if I caused any embarrassment to Princess Eugenie and Jack. It wasn’t appropriate for me to be topless.”

Erica went on to explain that the photos were “misinterpreted” and the vibe was completely platonic.

She added that, “Jack was speaking about his baby and showing us pictures of him. He looked adorable. He’s a very proud father. One day he told us he was very sad to be away from Princess Eugenie and his son.”

Erica’s comments come after those of Princess Eugenie’s mom, Duchess Sarah Ferguson, who told BBC One’s The One Show (via Just Jared) that “He works as an ambassador for Casamigos, and he was on doing his job, and so I think it’s really important that we clarify that for Jack’s sake.”
