Katie Holmes, sidewalk fashion icon, has done it again.

The actress stepped out in N.Y.C. on Sunday in an on-trend weather appropriate look consisting of a simple black crop top and a white maxiskirt with understated cutouts at the waist. Holmes paired the complementary pieces with a set of black Birkenstock sandals and matching cat-eye shades. She kept her shoulder-grazing hair loose and beachy, blowing back slightly in the wind. And, ever the New Yorker, Holmes topped it all off with the perfect summer accessory: a cup of iced coffee. 

Holmes is a fan of the statement piece, which, of late, has oscillated between a brown-orange baseball cap and her trusty Birkenstocks. Katie, if you're reading this, the skirt has statement potential! Ah, to be the beneficiary of such an abundant closet — we hope 15-year-old (!!!) Suri appreciates it.
