Kelsey Parker admits she’s ‘dreading’ first Christmas without husband Tom

Kelsey Parker, the widow of Tom Parker, has shared a picture of her late husband's last Christmas as she and her children prepare for the first Christmas without him.

Tom, who was a member of the boyband The Wanted, tragically passed away earlier this year, after a two year battle with stage four glioblastoma brain cancer.

Taking to Instagram on Christmas Eve, Kelsey has shared a photo of last Christmas with both her husband and their children Aurelia, three, and son Bodhi, two,

Captioning this, she wrote: "The littlest things that I didn’t really think of before now feel so huge.

"Going food shopping – no need to buy your Christmas favourites this year. Setting places at the table. Writing gift tags just from mummy.

"I’ve been putting Christmas off because honestly I’ve been dreading it. But it’s for the kids, they’ve always been my reason to get up each day and find the positives, and never has that been more true than this week.

"There’ll be empty chairs tomorrow and tears, but there’ll also be smiles, laughter and dancing – just as you would’ve had it."

Finishing her message, she added the hashtag "#PositiveParkersForever".

Kelsey's followers were quick to share their well-wishes and condolences to the mum-of-two, with one writing: "Hope you can find some joy in tomorrow, somewhere. I am in complete awe of your spirit. Xxxx"

Another commented: "Thinking of you. Cherish the special memories you have for the darker days.

"My husband has an incurable illness and times like Christmas are challenging. There are times you can hide away with your pain but there is an expectation at christmas time to give your children the best of you. I hope you can find your inner strength."

While a forth added: "My heart is with all of the Parker family tomorrow! I will be raising a glass for our Tommy p tomorrow, merry Christmas Kels, Rae and Bodhi! Your angel will be with youse tomorrow and forever."

Since her husband's passing Kelsey has been bravely open about her grief, recently sharing that she's been unable to listen to her late husband's music.

The mum-of-two explained: “I just can't listen to Tom's voice. It just actually breaks my heart. And I think music was such, like, it was so relevant in our relationship, like we've been together for 13 years. Music was our life.

"And for me, it just is really hard for me to listen to his voice, something so personal. It's so personal and Tom's lyrics are so raw as to what he thinks now actually reflecting on it.”
