Meghan Markle Says Archie Is Adjusting to Being a Big Brother to Lilibet on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is still learning how to be a big brother to his baby sister, Lilibet “Lili” Diana.

During her appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, said that there has been an “adjustment” period for the family since Lili’s arrival in June.

“Someone told H and I: ‘When you have one kid it’s a hobby, and two children is parenting,'” Meghan said, per People. “Suddenly we realized, ‘Oh, right.’ Everyone talks about what it’s like for the second child, but no one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along. So I think they have this moment of, ‘Oh, this is fun. Oh, this how it is now.'”

“He’s so sweet,” the talk show host, who also happens to be neighbors to the Sussexes in Montecito, California, replied.

When asked how Prince Harry feels about the move since the couple relocated from the U.K. to California at the start of 2020, Meghan said, “He loves it. … We moved here during lockdown, exactly when things shut down, so we’ve just been able to spend a lot of time at home and creating our home, but I think it’s just the lifestyle and the weather is pretty great. But we’re just happy.”

The Bench author also shared a never-before-seen photo of Archie taken at their California home. In the sweet snap, Archie carries a basket while tending to a chicken coop on the Sussexes’ property.

Meghan also shared their upcoming Thanksgiving plans.

“I love to cook,” the duchess said. “We’ll be home and just sort of relax and settle in. It’s our second Thanksgiving at home in California, so it’ll be nice.”
