Peter Andre hilariously tries to speak through his face mask

Reports have claimed singer Peter Andre, 47, started feeling unwell a few days ago, but he didn’t suspect that he had Covid-19. A source said the father-of-four has no idea how he caught the disease as “he’s barely been out and has spent most of his time at home with his family”.

“Because Emily [his wife] is working and the UK is in lockdown, Pete has no option but to look after his four children as normal and isolate away from Emily at home,” the insider added to The Sun.

They added the “whole family” are now in quarantine.

A representative for Peter told Express.co.uk: “He isn’t well, but isn’t going to worry people, he is coping with it.”

Peter has not addressed his coronavirus battle publicly, but did post on his Instagram page this afternoon to mark his daughter Amelia’s seventh birthday.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker shared a picture of his daughter’s presents, which included a bike, in front of a purple, pink and blue-themed balloon garland.

In view of his 1.6 million followers, he wrote: “Happy 7th birthday to my beautiful, kind and incredibly clever daughter Amelia.

“Love you to the moon and back… and back.

“It’s going be a quiet one but still as special as ever even if it’s distanced.”

Peter shares Amelia and four-year-old son Theo with his wife Emily, who works as a doctor.

He also has son Junior and daughter Princess with his first wife Katie Price.

Back in September, the father-of-four revealed his wife had caught coronavirus while working on the frontline, in an interview with Express.co.uk.

Expressing his worries for her at the time, he said: “Emily was working on the frontline dealing with coronavirus patients, which she of course then caught herself.

“The bitter side of it was, I was really worried about her health and thinking, ‘Oh My God, I hope she’s alright’.

“You were hearing all these things about young doctors and nurses getting very sick.

“It was a really scary time, having to disinfect herself and not going near the kids when she came in.

“But the sweet side of that was, I knew she was a part of the team that was saving lives, it’s something I could never [do], I was like, ‘Wow’.”

He went on to say of his humble wife: “She will never accept that she’s a hero, she’ll be like, ‘There are people who have done a lot more than me’.”

Pete said the pair had reached out to Kate Garraway, whose husband Derek Draper remains in hospital following a battle with coronavirus in March.

He said: “She’s such a nice person.

“I just pray that everything is going to be OK, I really do.

“It just highlights that not everyone is safe and some people who thought there was no virus, there are all sorts of things going on. It’s very real.”
