Ricky Gervais is reportedly set to shock audiences with his most controversial show yet, which will take on ‘woke cancel culture’, according to reports.
The comedian, 60, is said to have held a secret show in front of an intimate audience where he teased some new material for his upcoming tour, Armageddon.
According to Simon Boyle’s Bizarre column in The Sun, the funnyman called out modern ideals as ‘nonsense’, while making contentious quips about punching children and rehabilitating paedophiles.

While the Leicester Square Theatre show was branded ‘his best in years’ by the columnist, it is no doubt likely to spark fury among the cancel culture mob.
Ricky told the audience that his Armageddon show is going to be about how humanity will end and what will happen to the people on this planet.
The After Life star joked that he plans to spend the next 40 years hiring private jets to make sure that the end of the world ‘definitely f**king happens’.

Telling one tongue-in-cheek gag, Ricky said: ‘I am trying to be more woke. For example, I love illegal immigrants. Sue me.
‘Sometimes I just go down to Dover and I see a f***ing dinghy with 60 of them on and I go, ‘Come on, welcome! Women and children first. Oh, there are no women — just you lads, is it?’
The comedian went on to say that people born in this century will have a ‘very different’ middle age to himself.
He continued: ‘It’s my fault and the generation before me, the Boomers — with fossil fuels, deforestation, causing global warming, everything like that.

‘The new show is going to be called Armageddon and it’s going to be about how I think humanity will end — whether we will evolve, go to another planet, or we destroy it with things at our disposal,’ he said.
‘People born this century are going to have a very different middle age to me.
‘It’s my fault and the generation before me, the Boomers — with fossil fuels, deforestation, causing global warming, everything like that.
‘So, 20-year-olds today, in 40 years’ time they’ll be huddled in their houses like prisons, wearing masks, afraid, in pain, crying… like they do now over jokes.
‘I am going to spend all of my money on private jets from now on, to make sure it definitely f***ing happens.’

Ricky joked that he was trying to be more woke himself, adding: ‘I am trying to be more woke. For example, I love illegal immigrants. Sue me.

He played down the chances of hosting the biggest night of the Hollywood calendar, saying: ‘They’d never let me do what I wanted. I mean, that’s why the Globes got me.
‘They said I could write my own jokes and say what I wanted, no rehearsals.
‘I don’t think the Oscars would ever allow me that freedom and rightly so… I’d do the Oscars but it won’t happen. I’d get cancelled halfway through.’
But former Oscars host Whoopi Goldberg begged Ricky to say yes. Appearing together on America’s The View chat show, she said: ‘People would adore it if you were up for it. Did I hear you say you might be interested?
‘Because if you’re serious I could talk to a couple of people. I know people.’
Ricky replied: ‘I know you do and that’s what’s scary.’
A source said: ‘Oscars viewing figures have been declining for years. Ricky’s the man who could save the day. People would tune in just to see how shocking he is and to watch the stars squirm.’
Ricky missed out on the gig, which is being hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes on Sunday evening.
Ricky’s gig comes after fellow comedian Jimmy Carr caused controversy by joking that the ‘thousands of gypsies killed by the Nazis’ was a ‘positive’ effect of the Holocaust on his Netflix special.
Channel 4 backed him after the joke as they announced he’ll front another series of his game show I Literally Just Told You.
The broadcaster confirmed the star will host another eight episodes of the series, which first aired last year, despite calls for him to be ‘cancelled’ in the wake of his controversial gaffe.
In an interview with Broadcast magazine, Channel 4 chief Ian Katz backed Jimmy’s controversial humour, saying: ‘I defend the rights of comedians to make offensive jokes and if they can’t, then comedy is dead.’
‘Jimmy hasn’t espoused any views at odds with C4 values and just as we as a broadcaster exist to serve and represent a wide range of communities, we should always be home to the widest range of voices.’

In a widely-shared clip from his Netflix show, Jimmy joked about the horror of the Holocaust and ‘six million Jewish lives being lost’.
As a punchline, he then made a disparaging remark about the deaths of thousands of gypsies at the hands of the Nazis.
‘But they never mention the thousands of gypsies that were killed by the Nazis. No one ever wants to talk about that, because no one ever wants to talk about the positives,’ Carr quipped to a laughing audience.
The joke caused widespread backlash and prompted a debate about racism and free speech.
Jimmy left the joke out of his live comedy show in Cambridge after the council said it would light up the venue in the colours of the Romani flag.
His management was said to have ‘assured’ Cambridge city councillors that no material from the show will feature at the gig at the Corn Exchange.
