Susanna Reid said goodbye to Good Morning Britain earlier today as she headed off on a break. The broadcaster later took to social media to confirm when she’ll be coming back to the show this year.

Susanna is one of the main anchors on the hit morning news show GMB.

As a result, viewers were disappointed to see her leave this morning for a break away from broadcasting.

She made the announcement on today’s edition of the show, before later taking to social media to clarify her future.

Posting in view of her 573,000 Instagram followers, Susanna shared a snap of her in a red dress.

Alongside the picture, she penned: “OVER & OUT (for the summer) !!

“See you @gmb in September.”

Many of her fans waded in below, wishing her a good break.

One wrote: “See you in September!

“Have a nice holiday if you managed to get away if not have fun in Costa Del London.” (sic)

Another added: “Looking lovely!! Have a fantastic summer!!”

“Enjoy your well earned break,” penned a third.

A fourth follower replied: “We’re going to miss you Miss R!”

Others were curious to know if she’ll have a new co-presenter when she returns.

Susanna hosted GMB with Piers Morgan before his exit in March.

Since then, the broadcaster has not had a permanent co-anchor.

Instead, some of her ITV colleagues have stepped into the role, including Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard.

As well as this, several other stars have appeared like Richard Madeley, Alastair Campbell and Martin Lewis.

However, ITV has not confirmed a permanent replacement for the show yet.

Speaking about her summer break on the show earlier, Susanna joked with Ben.

She said: “I’m taking a sabbatical for the summer. Today is my last day.”

Ben replied: “Happy days. No, no, no, we’ll miss you.”

“That took a while,” Susanna joked back to her co-star.
