The Cambridges are ‘all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili’

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge can’t really decide if they’re happy or engorged with rage about Meghan and Harry’s exit from Salt Island. They swing wildly between the two emotions on a daily basis. One thing is a constant: they are definitely jealous of the Sussexes, and the Cambridges are constantly watching what “the other couple” does and does not do. According to the Daily Mail, palace courtiers were blindsided by the Sussexes’ birth announcement for Lili Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. I believe that it was the same for Kensington Palace: they had no idea that Meghan had given birth, and they didn’t know that her baby’s name would be Lilibet Diana. Hours after H&M made their announcement on Archewell, Kensington Palace finally got around to posting something on their social media:

Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.

It was tweeted from someone’s iPhone! What a Sunday vibe. God knows where William and Kate actually were – I suspect she was at Anmer Hall with the kids and William was knee-deep in a rose bush. So some intern was tasked with tweeting that, which might explain the effusive language.

Us Weekly’s source claims that William and Kate were “informed about the birth and have sent Lilibet a gift.” That gift is going to be postmarked June 7th and it’s just going to be a package full of buttons and Charlotte’s old onesies, whatever Kate could grab last minute.

Meanwhile, here’s the message from Clarence House. Weirdly, this one seems the coldest towards H&M. Like, is Charles seething? Possibly. I *completely* believe that Harry did not inform his father of the birth and that Charles learned about it with everyone else.

Wishing them all well at this special time. pic.twitter.com/ucJZIm2kqH
