Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen appear to bury the hatchet 16 years later

While Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen may have not always been the best of friends, it seems the pair have now managed to patch things up.

The actress, 38, has been seen modelling dresses from the designer’s collection following her critically-acclaimed performances in the Pillowman.

The Smile singer was seen leaving the Duke of York Theatre in London’s West End on Tuesday night wearing a draped-sleeve pink satin dress costing £750.

It seems the pop star has been building bridges with the Spice Girls singer, despite previously making some negative comments about her.

The warm feeling seems to be mutual, as Victoria shared a snap of Lily modelling her dress on her Instagram story, writing in view of her 31.2 million followers: “Love this look on you @lilyallen!! Kisses.”

Last month, Lily also wore a gorgeous £1,290 red satin gown designed by Victoria, which caused Victoria to brand her “my muse”.

While the former pop stars are friendly now, that wasn’t always the case, with Lily once branding Victoria “fame-obsessed”.

In the comments, which she made 16 years ago, she also criticised Victoria for posing with expensive handbags, claiming it had a negative effect on young people.

In 2007, Lily hit out at Victoria before she launched her famous fashion label, saying: “I just laugh when I see pictures of her in a magazine.

“I think, ‘You’re not promoting anything and you don’t need the money, so it’s all about you being famous.’ I don’t understand the need to just be famous.”

She said on an episode of This Week: “We are bombarded with fashion mags and gossip mags with rich pop stars and Victoria Beckhams with their new handbags and kids think that’s the sort of life they should have.”

Victoria’s husband David Beckham commented on their apparent feud one year beforehand when he appeared on BBC Radio 1.

DJ Chris Moyles offered to play Lily’s track at the time, prompting David to say: “She was horrible to Victoria, I won’t have that then.”

However, whatever previous tension there might have been between the two stars, it all appears to be squashed now.

Lily’s role in The Pillowman is her latest venture in the acting world, following her well-received performance as Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story last year.

She stars as Katurian in the show, described on its website as “the first major revival of Martin McDonagh’s electrifying and savagely funny Olivier award-winning play”.
