I told myself I wasn't going to shop that much anymore, but then it hit sixty degrees in New York for the first time, I went outside with my bare legs, and felt a compulsive need to go into every single store within a 10 mile radius of my apartment. There's just something about nice weather that is the perfect recipe for shopping. Basically, spring cleaning can wait.
Aside from thrift stores in my neighborhood, I'm addicted to shopping at Nordstrom, and luckily that's part of my job. But because I shop at Nordstrom for business and for pleasure, I often have a million items in my cart at any given time. These are the 10 items I think are an absolute must have for spring from an unexpected comfortable shoe to a statement skirt like no other.

Reebok Club C 85 Sneaker
I wouldn’t really say I’m a sneakers girl. Instead I’m obsessed with platform boots that aren’t really part of my current WFH lifestyle. Basically if they give you blisters or are impossible to walk in, I’m obsessed. That being said, the nice weather makes me actually want to get from point A to point B, and some comfortable sneakers are necessary for that.
Emily Ratajkowski was recently spotted wearing these Reebok sneakers, and I really love the vintage look. They feel far cooler than Golden Goose and are about $500 less. But as with any celeb-approved affordable, cozy sneaker, these are about to blow up, which is exactly why I bought a pair yesterday.
Sandy Liang Chan Chan Margot Print Silk Skirt
When I first started working in fashion, I dreamt about one day owning a piece by Sandy Liang. The designer grew up in New York City like me and even went to my rival high school. Her clothing is inspired by the Chinese grandmas of the Lower East Side and, as someone who grew up admiring the very stylish little old grandmas in Queens, I instantly fell in love with everything she designs.
Liang’s pieces often sell out fast, and I felt like my secret was always finding some good gems of hers on Nordstrom. This print silk skirt is one of the best pieces in her latest collection, and it’s actually a collaboration with artist Sara Rabin, which means, yes, it doubles as a piece of art. It’s also sold out on Liang’s website, and considering there are hundreds of commenters on her Instagram asking when she’s planning on restocking, there is no way it’ll stay in stock on Nordstrom for much longer. Statement midi skirts are very much a big trend this year too, and if this one isn’t your cup of tea, Nordstrom also has thousands more starting at $30.
Vagabond Shoemakers Alex Penny Loafer
Vagabond is basically an open celebrity secret. Everyone wears the brand, which makes just about every shoe trend you can imagine at an affordable price point. Even Katie Holmes couldn’t stop wearing it and has been spotted multiple times in its loafers. I was so obsessed, I even bought a pair of my own.
But now I’m addicted and am convinced I need the Alex penny loafer in white. Loafers will continue to be everywhere this spring, and they’re the easiest trendy shoe to wear and by far one of the most practical trends we’ve seen in a minute. I just can’t guarantee you won’t convince yourself to buy about five more pairs of Vagabond.
YanYan Rosie Extra Long Sleeve Lambswool Cardigan
YanYan is another one of my favorite brands a lot of people may not realize is on Nordstrom. They recently launched at the retailer, and pieces have been flying off the digital shelves. Its knits are truly unlike anything I’ve seen before and make me feel like a cute little cloud when I wear them. I actually own the matching skirt to this cardigan and am now convinced I need them both.
Cardigans are a basic layering piece year round, but in the spring you can get away with wearing just a cardigan. Plus, sexy cardis aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. And what’s sexier than a two-tone cardigan with floral embellishments all over? Nothing.
Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Wand Highlighter
When it comes to makeup that makes my confidence skyrocket, Charlotte Tilbury is at the top of the list. Tilbury makes some of the absolute best makeup on the market without a doubt. But what else would you expect from the brand that makes Amal Clooney’s go-to lipstick?
Recently, the celeb-loved brand went viral for being the key to Madison Beer’s Vogue makeup look that has garnered over five million views. Beer said some of her favorite products of all time were Tilbury’s blush wand (which has sold out) and the famous Glowgasm beauty wand highlighter, which is magically still in stock. I instantly added it to my cart after watching the video and boy, was she not lying. This is my new go-to and gives me the biggest literal glow-up of all time.
Alo Yoga Airbrush High Waist Leggings
Jennifer Garner was onto something when she swore by Alo Yoga, but i’ve only recently started listening to the leggings gospel. After trying out the brand’s popular Airbrush onesie which instantly made my legs look longer, I’ve become addicted.
Alo Yoga’s airbrush leggings are one of the highest-rated leggings on Nordstrom, and considering everything I’ve tried so far from the Airbrush line has literally made me look… well… airbrushed… I’m sold. Now that I can finally start to work out on my roof again, I need a good pair of leggings and I just know these will make me look forward to working out while giving me confidence in how I currently look.
Dansko Pro XP 2.0 Clog
I have never worn clogs until this year, and now I absolutely cannot stop. Sarah Jessica Parker has been wearing the ‘ugly shoe’ since 1993, but suddenly they seem to be everywhere.
If you’re new to the trend, Dansko is definitely a great starter brand to begin your clogs journey. The brand is actually known for their comfort among nurses who stand for hours during their shift. Eventually people started to see that the clogs weren’t just comfortable but cute, too, and now Instagram girls are wearing them everywhere.
Free People Baggy Tomboy Denim Shorts
Every year I somehow get to peak summer and realize I do not have nearly enough denim shorts. They’re absolutely a staple and everyone should own at least 10 pairs, which is why I’m sharing the little known secret that Free People actually makes the best pair I haven’t thrifted for under $100.
These tomboy shorts are just $78 and have the best fit. Some denim shorts run the risk of being booty shorts, but these give enough room to live your life in without having to worry about a wardrobe malfunction.
Shushu Tong Peak Collar Cotton Shirt
Shushu Tong is another emerging brand most people haven’t heard of just yet that is bound to be absolutely everywhere in the next year or so. If you love large collars, exaggerated silhouettes, and babydoll dresses look no further.
I’m convinced Shushu Tong makes the best clothing to attend a picnic in, and considering that is a popular spring activity, I’ll be needing everything the brand makes immediately for all my future picnic plans. This collar cotton shirt is a piece I could wear for months and never be tired with. The layering potential is endless.
Ganni Check Balloon Sleeve Dress
My wardrobe has consisted of so much Ganni recently, and I’m not mad about it. Bella Hadid convinced me I needed the brand’s popular chelsea boots, and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made in months. That being said, I now can’t stop dreaming about Ganni’s gorgeous dresses that go viral everytime the sun comes out.
Ganni’s dresses are comfortable and cute, which explains why every fashion editor seems to own an extensive collection. This balloon sleeve dress looks perfect for days when I want a great outfit with minimal effort. Also, now is the perfect time to start researching which Ganni dress you’ll wear all season before everyone inevitably does the same.
