11 diet delivery boxes to help with healthy eating during lockdown

Let’s face it, the work involved in maintaining a healthy diet is one more thing we don’t want to be worrying about at the moment.

And to make matters worse, Covid-19 is roughly the same number of lbs many of us have packed on over the course of 3 lockdowns.

Staying on top of healthy habits can be hugely difficult in times of emotional stress, which um, would be now.

So whether you’re eating your feelings, finding it impossible not to constantly snack while WFH or regularly reaching for chocs and takeaways, here are some better, but still easy, options.

Jane Plan

Developed by nutrition and weight loss expert Jane Michell, Jane Plan is an award-winning diet plan that delivers straight to your door. The food is good – so many diet meal services keep everything really under seasoned – but that’s not the case here. It’s also affordable, with plans starting from around £7 per day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack.

The focus is on portion and calorie control, and while most of their plans are around 1,200 calories a day, they can be upped based on your needs. In addition to free online yoga sessions, a real plus is the dedicated weekly support – everyone is assigned a qualified nutritionist who calls (or emails, if you’d prefer) every week with advice and encouragement.

Once enrolled, you choose your favourite meals to arrive on a monthly basis alongside info with tips about the diet, exercise and healthy recipes for when you need to break away from the plan. You can opt for meals every day or to have weekends off. Options include gluten or dairy-free, low sugar or high protein meals, vegetarian or Halal. Another nice touch – they let you send back anything you’re not a fan of and switch it for free (you just pay the postage).

Nutri-Genetix

A diet meal replacement shake based on your own DNA? It doesn’t get more personal than that!

A private consultation call with NGX’s head of nutrition helps with advice on improving diet and how to boost performance and immunity. Your own personal shakes arrive in a powder form, you can mix them with water or another liquid of choice as well as veggies and fruit if desired. They are designed as a meal replacement (1 or 2 a day) followed by a healthy meal based around your goals. Prices start from £34.99 with a monthly subscription that includes a free DNA test (worth £99.99) and a personalised nutrition report.
