Demi Lovato is continuing to evolve in 2022.

The “Confident” singer, 29, quietly completed another stint at rehab at the end of the year, emerging with a shaved head that Lovato, who uses they/them pronouns after coming out as non-binary, said marked a “fresh start.”

Earlier this week, Lovato took their buzzcut even closer to the scalp, making room for a large tattoo of a spider on the side of their head.

And on Monday, the former Disney star debuted an industrial piercing alongside the ink.

Known to be one of the more painful types of piercings, an industrial piercing is comprised of two separate cartilage perforations, typically connected by a barbell — which was clearly visible in Lovato’s Instagram Stories clip showing off the look.

It seems Lovato is also cleansing their social media to align with their new era; as of Tuesday, their Instagram page was completely wiped of all previous posts except a trippy photo collage showing off the fresh buzzcut.

“It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things,” the artist wrote in a since-deleted post unveiling their arachnid tattoo.

“She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web – each one of us having our place in the world.”

Though the haircut appears to have been a DIY job from when Lovato was still in rehab in Utah, the star tagged hairstylist Amber Maynard Bolt after getting tattooed, asking her to help neaten up the style.
