Emma Roberts played coy about whether her friend Lea Michele can read amid a long-standing conspiracy theory that the “Glee” alum is illiterate.

“The biggest misconception is that she cannot read,” Andy Cohen told Roberts about her former “Scream Queens” co-star on “Watch What Happens Live” Wednesday.

Instead of directly shutting down the rumor, the “Unfabulous” alum, 31, skirted around the question with a joke.

“Well, we have not been in book club together,” she said with a laugh before awkwardly saying, “No, she’s …” without finishing her thought.

Roberts did, however, speak highly of Michele, 36, by sharing how proud she was of her pal’s success as the lead in “Funny Girl” on Broadway.

“She’s so down-to-earth and so talented, and she just deserves everything she’s getting with all the ‘Funny Girl’ praise, and I couldn’t be happier, truly,” she gushed.

Michele finally confirmed she can read while making light of the rumors in 2018.

“Loved READING this tweet and wanted to WRITE you back,” she tweeted at the time. “Literally laughing out loud at all this. Love you!!!”

And last year, she again joked about the theory while giving a speech at a Broadway and Vine event in Napa Valley, Calif.

“You don’t have to go to college to be in theater. I didn’t go to college, you guys, and look at me,” she began.

“There is a rumor online that I cannot read or write, which may have something to do with the fact I didn’t go to college.”

A source at the event told Page Six at the time, “I can confirm she can read. Sheet music too.”
