Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton Sells His Tribeca Penthouse For $49.5 Million

After four years of purchasing the NYC building, Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton bid goodbye to the property for a hefty price of $49.5 million. The New York Post reports that the Tribeca penthouse was once owned by famous celebrities Meg Ryan, Harry Styles and The Weeknd. Racecar driver Hamilton has purchased the property for about $43.9 million in 2017. The price tag of the property had a significant drop in the price from its original listing price of $57 million back in February 2019.

The penthouse has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two and half bathroom home which is located at the top of converted book binding factory which was built in 1883. The unit has space of about 8,900 square feet which was spread out between the three floors of the property. The topmost floor features a stunning lounge which opens to outdoor space of 3,400 square feet. It also features a comprehensive set of kitchen located on the bodacious terrace of the penthouse. Added amenities include numerous seating areas on the dining space and a stunning luxurious plunge pool.

The penthouse also has arched windows which flood the double height with great room with lights. The new owner of the penthouse will enjoy a private, secure and quiet place that has a luxurious energy all over the place. Additional selling point of the penthouse is the deep soak tubs which the unit offers to its owners with a lot of marble accented bathroom. For a far better relaxation experience, a 70-foot pool with a Turkish hammam, which is available in the same building as the penthouse.

Formula 1 racecar driver Lewis Hamilton is not the only star attracted to the building, numerous celebrities enjoyed owning the property before putting it back to the market. However according to reports, he never lived in the bachelor penthouse. Among the celebrities who owned the penthouse over the years include Rebel Wilson, Harry Styles, Justine Timberlake, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel, Meg Ryan, and The Weeknd.

Although Hamilton left the building for good, he does not totally bid goodbye to the neighborhood since he has purchased a Tribeca penthouse in the same neighborhood in 2019 for about $40.7 million. The penthouse he currently owns is just about two minutes away from the Tribeca penthouse he just sold this week.
