Footage of a family's food shopping receipt sparked outrage on social media when the dad of the household shared a video of the epically-long list to the Star Wars theme song.
The dad, TikTok user @jayandemalou, mimicked the opening titles of the Sci-Fi saga as he scanned down the long list of groceries after shopping at Tesco in Newcastle on January 5.
"When the wife says she needs a 'lockdown shop'", reads the on-screen caption.
The list shows an impressive haul of food, including sausages, bacon, turkey rashers, avocado, Dr Pepper and Vimto.
"Most men in the UK will understand," he joked in the caption.
The video has been watched more than 1 million times and attracted thousands of comments, with people joking about their own lockdown shopping habits.
"If you didn't order a takeaway when you got home it wasn’t successful," joked one
Another said: "Man only got six beans, I see this is your first lockdown brother."
Someone else quipped: "There is hardly any chocolate or alcohol on there.
"This is not our first rodeo she should know better."
The dad lives in a household of nine people, hence the sizeable list, but trolls on the video-sharing app were quick to scold him for "hoarding".
"Lucky for those who can afford excessive shopping," moaned one person.
Another said: "And that’s why the shelves in the shops are empty."
Leaping to the family's defence, another person wrote: "Omg it’s pretty obvious most commenters don’t shop for a family if they think this is stockpiling.
"That lot wouldn’t make a dent in Tesco."
Hitting back at the critics, the dad also said he was shopping less frequently, and so buying more in a single go, because the government has told people to go outside less often during the coronavirus pandemic.
