The revelations about Melanie’s (Lucinda Cowden) past hit Toadie (Ryan Moloney) hard in more ways than one. While his love life is now crashing around his ears, so is his business in Neighbours.

With the truth about Melanie’s past love life out in the ether, it starts to do damage. As clients get wind of her murky past with her old boss, Toadie’s once loyal customers start to desert him.

Toadie is gutted but he’s in a bind; he doesn’t want to turn his back on his girlfriend but has to save his practice somehow. He desperately wants to support her but is painfully aware she’s currently costing him his livelihood.

But then help arrives from an unexpected source – Toadie’s former employee and love interest Rose Walker makes a return. After lending a hand with the Film Festival, she now wants to help him save his law firm.

Is she a bit too keen to help him perhaps? This is a spanner in the works for Mel, who is trying hard to hold onto her man. Has she got herself a rival? Toadie tries to reassure Mel that Rose is just being nice, but little does he know what she’s really up to.

In other words, Mel is right to be worried. Rose is here to prove to Toadie he can do better than Melanie. She uses the festival project to spend more time with him and get under his skin and in-between him and his girlfriend. Melanie’s nose is put out of joint and Toadie is caught in the middle. It comes down to him making a decision, but who will he choose?
