Sweet hidden meaning behind J-Lo’s engagement ring from Ben Affleck

18 years after calling off their first engagement,Jennifer Lopez andBen Affleckare engaged once again.

Popstar turned actress Jennifer, who rekindled her romance with the actor last year, showed off her stunning ring in a video shared via her newsletter, On the JLo.

The 52 year old looked stunning as she opted for a cream cardigan and minimal makeup, accompanying the paired back look with the huge green-hued diamond ring.

But in addition to being a less traditional choice of jewellery, it turns out that the colour of the ring has a deeper meaning for the On The Floor singer.

In a previous edition of the newsletter, JLo had opened up about how green has been significant throughout her life.

Referring to her infamous Versace dress that she wore to the 2000 Grammys, she wrote: “I always say the colour green is my lucky colour.

“Maybe you can remember a certain green dress.

“I've realised there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green.

“It may be a coincidence, maybe not. But as I took a better look, I realised there are no coincidences.”

She also explained that she’d once been persuaded to buy a piece of artwork simply because of its colouring.

Despite rarely buying art, the piece, that features a green bird, has become hugely significant to the musician.

“I don't buy a lot of art, but I bought this. One because I love hummingbirds, and two because I love the colour green,” she wrote.

“Birds always fly around me. I've always had a special connection with hummingbirds. I realised that a lot of people say they symbolise love. So whenever it feels like wherever I go, they follow me.

“Whenever I am in a moment of doubt and confusion, one will magically appear by my window, reminding me that the universe will always speak to us if we are open to the signs.”

The news of Jennifer’s engagement to the 49 year old actor comes afterthe mum-of-two shared her hopes for an ‘intimate’ proposal.

While speaking to Dev Griffin on Heart Radio, she opened up about her relationship with Ben after they first started dating in 2002 before calling it quits in 2004.

Asked about her opinions on public displays of affection, Jennifer explained: “I love public displays of romance, I don’t know if I would love a proposal, I think that that’s a more intimate thing between two people.

“But I have no problem with PDA, like people say, I actually, I’m all about it!”

However, despite being a fan of PDA, she also explained that she’d hope for a less public proposal herself.

“I do think that a proposal is kind of a sacred intimate thing, that should just be between two people, when you’re about to pledge your lives to each other, that’s a big deal,” she said.
