Love Love Island? Our Factor 50 email brings all the goss direct to your inbox
Whilst Love Island's aim is in the name, its relationships are rarely built to last and the contestants' romances tend to come to an abrupt end within months of the show's final credits.
Of course, some have proven the sceptics wrong, with couples such as Alex and Olivia Bowen, and Nathan and Cara De La Hoyde-Massey tying the knot after finding love on the ITV2 dating show.
Love Island's seventh series finale airs tonight, Monday August 23, with the final four couples made up of Millie Court, Liam Reardon, Chloe Burrows, Toby Aromoralan, Faye Winter, Teddy Soares, Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank.
Fans are frantically debating which of the final four couples will actually go the distance upon leaving the Majorcan villa – but if their season seven co-stars are anything to go off… Things aren't looking good.
Here's all you need to know on Love Island 2021's dumped couples and where they are now.
Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson
Stunning couple Mary and Aaron never made things official on Love Island, but the latecomers were quick to win over fans with their unmistakable chemistry.
Casa Amor bombshell Mary had her sights set on footballer Aaron as soon as he walked into the villa, claiming she was "obsessed" with him only days in.
The pair naturally grew close over their two weeks in the villa together, and left hand in hand just days before the final.
Despite the pair's lovey-dovey front, reports are now claiming Mary has friend-zoned the ripped athlete, after she was quizzed by Laura Whitmore on the future of their relationship.
Speaking on spin-off show Love Island Aftersun, she said: "I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal we’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here."
Lucinda Strafford and Aaron Francis
Despite seeming pretty smitten during their time in the show, Lucinda revealed to the MailOnline that she was "unsure" whether things with Aaron would continue on the outside world upon her return to the UK.
The islander told the publication: "Unfortunately, both of us didn't find actual love in the villa.
"We're great friends, I know that I can come to him for anything. The aim of the game is to find love and I did really want to… I made amazing friends in there"
Lucinda added: "We're unsure what's going to happen romantically between us, because we haven't been able to properly see each other, and we're both going to be busy because we have busy schedules going on so, if it's not romantically we'll be really good friends."
Days later, Lucinda proved her attention was elsewhere as she was seen holding hands with ex-Love Island partner Brad McClelland during a date night in Brighton.
Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole
As the first ever Love Island 2021 couple, Jake and Liberty had an instant connection which really resonated with the show's viewers.
They coupled up on day one and going on to become the first pair to make things official in season seven.
However, as the weeks went on Liberty began to question her boyfriend's feelings for her, after he was seen admitting he "didn't want to rip her clothes off".
Refusing to change herself for the sake of their relationship, Liberty decided to call it quits with the wannabe stripper, and decided to part ways during their final date, leaving the villa voluntarily only three days before the final.
Brett and Priya
Brett was the last bombshell to enter the villa and the PhD student immediately hit it off with junior doctor Priya, with the pair coupling up together just 24 hours after his arrival.
However, an awkward date that saw the boys cook dinner for the girls in the villa had Priya confessing that she was 'bored' by model Brett and when she was with him it felt like she was "holding hands with her dad".
As we all know too well, there's no coming back from the ick, and despite Brett's keenness it was clear that Priya was over the whole thing, and they were subsequently dumped from the island after a public vote found them the least compatible.
Hugo Hammond and Amy Day
Hugo and Amy struck up a relationship during their time at Casa Amor, with Hugo choosing to ditch his friendship couple with Chloe and pursue something with Amy instead back in the main villa.
While things seemed to be going well at first, Hugo was later seen telling the boys he was "unsure" about their romance and following their dumping from the villa, he brutally described his time on the show as 'tragic' leaving Amy shocked as she stood alongside him during their exit interview.
The couple then came to blows during an appearance on Aftersun, as Hugo slammed Amy for using him as a "green card" into the villa, while she branded him "awful with women".
She accused Hugo of "flipping'" on her and "friend-zoning her out of the blue".
AJ Bunker and Danny Bibby
Bombshells AJ and Danny entered the villa only a day apart, with the pair cracking on with Hugo Hammond and Lucinda Strafford respectively.
In true Love Island fashion, they realised the spark wasn't there with their new partners, and decided to explore things with eachother… Only to be dumped by the general public vote only a day later.
They told ITV that they're excited to see what happens after the show, but let's be honest – we all lost interest in this blossoming romance the second they walked out the villa doors.
Are they together now? It doesn't seem that way, as both ex-islanders have been doing their own thing since their quarantine period ended.
The Love Island 2021 final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
