He lost his chance at the gates in the Epsom Dash but still showed lots of speed and this big drop in class will make him hard to beat under a capable 3lb claimer.

LENNY’S SPIRIT (1.45 Yarmouth, treble)

He was very impressive when scoring at Nottingham and can cope with a 5lb penalty over his favourite distance.

3.55 DONCASTER

NOVA LEGEND looks perfect for Doncaster’s 3.55.

He was staying on over shorter when a good second at Leicester and can take a big step forward. Sir Michael Stoute’s Havaila looks the danger.

NOVA LEGEND 5

SUPER Nova. Made a good start for quality trainer James Ferguson when running on over 1m4f at Leicester last time. He shapes as though this longer distance will be ideal with the benefit of that outing under his belt. The form of his last race is working out and he has more to offer.

MUGADER 3

NO Mug. Is improving with every run but didn’t look the speediest when plugging on over a shorter distance when third at Goodwood 14 days ago. He’s back from the same mark, which seems fair, and this trip should suit better. Needs to improve.

HAVAILA 4

HAV a go. Interesting runner making his handicap debut for Sir Michael Stoute. He improved at Salisbury last time and looks likely to enjoy moving up to this more testing distance. Looks the main danger.

HIGHLAND FROLIC 3

HIGH praise. Finished behind Havaila at Salisbury last time without any obvious excuses. That was just his third run and he’s another making his handicap debut. It’s interesting that John Gosden puts excellent claimer Benoit De La Sayette up which enhances his chances.

LEVITATE 1

LEV it out. Didn’t seem to stay this far when fading into sixth at Doncaster 20 days ago. Has had a little help from the handicapper but has questions to answer.

BUXTED REEL 2

REEL him in. Was just nabbed on the line over 1m4f at Salisbury last time and has copped a 2lb rise in the weights for that. Should see out this longer trip but takes on stronger rivals here.
