Khabib Nurmagomedov shares snaps of crunch Abu Dhabi meeting with UFC chief Dana White as octagon return is mooted

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has shared photos and videos of his crunch meeting with Dana White.

The Russian met with the UFC supremo on Friday night at UAE Warriors 15 in Abu Dhabi, with the prospect of him returning to the octagon high on the agenda.

During the meeting, Nurmagomedov used Instagram to show his millions of followers exactly what was going on.

The lightweight king's first story update came in the form of a clip of himself, which promptly switched to one of White sat opposite him.

Another update included photos of the pair taking in the show, which was in memory of Nurmagomedov's late father.

The Dagestani destroyer then posted a clip of himself drinking a cup of tea next to White with the accompanying caption: " We drink tea not whiskey. Because of…"

There has been no word on what was agreed between the pair during their summit.

Former AC Milan and Real Madrid star Clarence Seedorf was also in attendance and posted footage of White and Nurmagomedov to his own story, which the latter re-posted.

White didn't attend UAE Warriors 15 with the sole purpose of speaking to Nurmagomedov, he also went there to film the latest episode of 'Dana White's Looking for a Fight' along with former UFC stars Din Thomas and Matt Serra.

The undefeated Nurmagomedov, 32, retired from MMA last October after beating Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 254.

The Eagle decided to call time on his perfect career after promising his mother he'd no longer compete without his late father – Abdulmanap – by his side.

But prior to their meeting, White was confident of convincing Russia's first UFC champion to fight again.

He told ESPN: “I’m obviously meeting with him because I think that he should fight again.

“Look at what he did to Justin Gaethje [in October]. Look at what he's done to every opponent he has faced.

"I think he should fight again and I'm going to press him as hard as I can for one more.”

Nurmagomedov's head coach, Javier Mendez, believes White would have made the pride of Dagestan a tempting proposal, telling SunSport: "I think Dana has it in his mind to give him an offer he can't refuse."

The American Kickboxing Academy chief added: "Let's face it, how many times has Dana failed at doing something he wanted to do? Not much. Dana does what he says."
