    United sign Parris

Manchester United have completed the signing of England women's international Nikita Parris.

The ex-Arsenal star says she wants to help United progress and grow.

Parris said: “It feels unbelievable to be here. It’s been quite a summer, and this tops it off.

"Manchester United is an historic club who are making big movements in the WSL and I can’t wait to be a part of our future success.

"With my winning mentality in matches and training, I want to help this team move forward and grow.

"I’m not the only new signing this summer, which shows the intention of the club to do exactly that. I’m so happy to be here and can’t wait to get started.”

    De Jong wants Chelsea transfer

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has claimed that Frenkie de Jong would rather join Chelsea over Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils have been pursuing a deal for De Jong, 25, since the transfer window opened in June.

However, despite already reaching a £72million agreement with Barcelona, United officials have not been able to tempt him to Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Nou Camp next season, but Redknapp believes he could be persuaded to join Chelsea if The Blues submit a suitable offer.

When speaking to The Byline, the former manager said: “Now it looks like De Jong wants to go to Chelsea, I know that for a fact, he wants to go to Chelsea.

“Man United are not going to get him. I’ve had that from somebody right at the very, very, very top at Man United, he’s made up [his mind], he really wants to go to Chelsea.

“So if he goes to Chelsea, and Man United don’t get him, I don’t know where they’re going and if Chelsea get him obviously he’ll be a fantastic signing for them.”

Jake Paul predicts Premier League table

YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul has weighed in on who he thinks will make the top ten in the Premier League this season.

The American has a soft spot for Liverpool, so he has placed them top.

Defending champions Manchester City follow in a close second.

Paul thinks Tottenham and Manchester United will take third and fourth.

Chelsea and Arsenal will finish in the Europa League spots.

West Ham have been placed in seventh.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and Leicester complete the top ten.

    Fernandes meets former team-mate

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been seen meeting with former team-mate Juan Mata for lunch.

The pair were seen outside Italian restaurant Cibo in Hale Village.

Mata, 34, sported a striking new look with his hair now shaved off.

The Spaniard was released by United at the end of last season after eight years at the club.

He was one of 11 players released following the club's worst ever Premier League campaign.

The former Chelsea ace is currently without a club, but has reportedly been offered contracts by Leeds and Saudi Arabian side Al-Halil.

Wan-Bissaka is ex-club Crystal Palace’s top transfer target

Aaron Wan-Bissaka could reportedly make a return to Crystal Palace after it was revealed they hold an interest in him.

The Manchester United star, who Palace sold three years ago for £50million, has lost his place in the United starting xi and consequently is seen as a player who can be shipped out.

Palace interested in him, and are willing to take the full-back on loan this season, as reported by Sky Sports.

Wan-Bissaka excelled in The Eagles low-block system after he broke into the first team from the academy, impressing with his robust and often extraordinary tackling ability.

After 46 appearances in the Palace senior side United were convinced to splash £50m on him, banking on him developing the attacking side of his game to the required standard.

However, after struggling last season the 24-year-old lost his place to Diogo Dalot, and this trend is likely to continue when Erik ten Hag picks his team to face Brighton in their opening fixture.

    Neville 'disappointed' in Ronaldo

Gary Neville says he's disappointed with how former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo has handled the situation at Manchester United.

He said: "If Ronaldo is fit you start him, and I hope he stays.

"I'm a little bit disappointed in him because he's letting the manager go into those press conferences.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is now a good age. He's been the greatest player in the world along with Lionel Messi for the last 10 years. He's got all the experience in the world.

"Would it be too much to ask for him to come out and do an interview to clear things up, tell us what he's actually thinking and what actually is happening?

"Would that be too much to ask a senior player? Is he not going to do an interview for the next three weeks? Is he not going to do an interview on Sunday after the game?

"Obviously, Sky are going to ask for him on Sunday after the game. Is he going to come out, stand up, do the interview, and not let everyone else have to answer the questions for him?

"I think that would be something that would be a start."

Neville & Carragher: Ronaldo situation needs to be sorted

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are in agreement that Cristiano Ronaldo's ongoing situation at Manchester United needs to be figured out.

Speaking after Arsenal's win over Crystal Palace, Neville said: "The Ronaldo situation is distracting.

"You saw Ten Hag in the press conference on Friday having to answer questions about it.

"The fact Anthony Martial has got injured and he is the only other centre forward, and he actually was going to leave the club six months ago.

"The fact they haven't got Frenkie de Jong in, the fact you haven't been supported in the way the other managers have and getting the signings early, I think it all means it's a more difficult job for Ten Hag than it already was."

    Moyes on Lingard snub

David Moyes was surprised Jesse Lingard snubbed West Ham for a money-spinning move to Nottingham Forest.

Ahead of West Ham’s opener against champions Manchester City tomorrow, asked if he was surprised by Lingard’s decision, Moyes said: “I was, yeah.

“I thought Jesse in the end would come here and I’ve got to say the club made him a really good offer.

“You couldn’t turn around and say David Sullivan and the owners didn’t do everything they could to get him. They certainly did, but he chose Forest.

“He was entitled to do that.

“I’ve got to say the club have tried to get lots of players but for different reasons we’ve not been able to get them.”

    'Hopefully not too long'

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag says he is hopeful Anthony Martial's spell on the sidelines doesn't last too long.

The Red Devils are short in the striker department.

He said: "It is always difficult to say with these injuries, but hopefully not too long.”

    Good morning Man Utd fans

Cristiano Ronaldo could be playing in Brazil this season if Corinthians have anything to do with it.

The South American side have publicly declared their interest in Ronaldo who wants to quit United.

Corinthians’ president Duilio Monteiro Alves said: “It’s true, I’m dreaming big.

“This is Corinthians! Aren’t Willian and Renato Augusto here? In football everything is possible, and I have the obligation to do my best for Corinthians.

“Is it possible? I don’t know. We haven’t tried yet, we haven’t looked into it, but we are keeping an eye on it. Imagine if he suddenly wants to play in Brazil.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is likely in talks with another club behind the scenes, Graeme Souness thinks.

He said: “We all know how the game works, his people and [agent] Jorge Mendes will have been speaking to clubs and asking if they could afford him.

“I don’t believe that he’s gone out on a limb and said that he wants to leave without having something going on in the background.

“Whoever it is, it seems that there is still somebody out there for him but they’re not willing to show their hand.”

Elsewhere, Man United boss Erik ten Hag remained coy when asked about his team’s pursuit of Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong.

He said at a press conference ahead of United’s season opener against Brighton: “We want Frenkie? I didn’t know! It’s about the right players but I can’t speak about players under contract at another club. When there is news, you will know.”

But one thing Ten Hag could confirm is that Ronaldo will be starting against Brighton despite missing a chunk of the Red Devils’ pre-season campaign whilst trying to engineer his exit.

Ten Hag revealed: “I am really happy he is here, he is a top striker. We will see on Sunday.”

Finally, Brighton boss Graham Potter ten Hag has been given a glowing assessment by Brighton counterpart Graham Potter heaped praise on Ten Hag ahead of their team’s clash this weekend.

Potter said: “I think he’s a fantastic coach with a great experience during his time at Ajax.

“He did a really good job and I really enjoyed his team.

“I am sure he’s ready for the next step and will be looking forward to the game and there will be a positive atmosphere at Old Trafford so we’ll have to deal with that, and have to be ready to face that challenge.”

Man United in De Jong boost

Man United have reportedly received a breakthrough in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong's resisted United's advances thus far, but his future may no longer be in his hands as reports claim Barca have to sell FIVE players in order to register their new signings, according to Sport.

Barca brought in Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha, as well as Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto this summer.

But none of them will be able to play until Barca balance the books, La Liga have demanded.

And this means the Catalan side will have to offload some stars to do so, with De Jong at the top of the list as he's the most valuable asset.

Ferdinand chimes in on rivals' game

Man United legend Rio Ferdinand suggested Crystal Palace probably deserved a penalty against Arsenal in the first half.

Gabriel Magalhaes appeared to have handed the ball inside the Gunners' area on 36 minutes but referee Anthony Taylor waived play on.

BT Sport pundit Ferdinand took to Twitter after the questionable call and asked fans for their verdict.

The legendary centre-back suggested that the Palace players may have been right to protest the ref's decision.

    Ferdinand tweeted: "Handball…..? Thoughts."

    Ronaldo risks fans wrath

Man United fans' patience with Cristiano Ronaldo is wearing thin, Jamie Carragher thinks.

He said to The Telegraph: "I believe the supporters have had enough, too. They will always love what he did for the club but can see his presence is now doing more harm than good.

“United need to move on, creating a new culture on and off the pitch in which it is visibly obvious everyone is pulling together.

"Everything Ronaldo has done in pre-season has been calculated to serve his needs above the new coach.”

    Ten Hag chances reviewed

Erik ten Hag's chances of success have been diminished at Man United as the club haven't provided him with the signings to succeed this summer.

That's according to Gary Neville who said: "I'm not putting any pressure at all on Ten Hag at this moment in time because I don't think he's been given the tools to work with that he should have been at this stage of the season.

"That might change in a couple of weeks.

"I think that he's got a really difficult job and I think Manchester United fans are in patient mode."

    United can survive without Ronaldo

Man United will only miss Cristiano Ronaldo for a short period of time, according to Roy Keane.

But the Red Devils hardman is adamant United won't compete for top honours with or without Ronaldo in the ensuing years.

He said on Sky Sports: "Then the other players are looking going "OK, short-term we'll miss him, but in the bigger picture, we're trying to rebuild".

'Man United really aren't going to be competing for league titles for two or three years."

    How United can get embarrassed

Man United can end up looking embarrassed if Frenkie de Jong ends up at Chelsea.

That's according to Gary Neville, who said: "Manchester United is a huge job full stop. It's become even more difficult in the past few weeks that he hasn't got in the players that he wanted.

"They might get them in, within the next few weeks but Manchester United will look incredibly smart if they get De Jong in or they might look a little embarrassed.

"Particularly if he goes to Chelsea. Then there's the Cristiano Ronaldo situation, complicated even further by Anthony Martial's injury.

"It's not the ideal start as a new Manchester United manager, who is always going to be under pressure."

    Maguire leaps to Ronaldo's defence

Man United captain Harry Maguire has leapt to the defence of 'magnificent' Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports last season claimed the pair were at odds over the captaincy role at United.

But Maguire's put that to bed by praising Ronaldo despite the attacker wanting to leave the Red Devils.

Maguire said: "Cristiano is a magnificent player and magnificent character to have around us. I know what it is like to have a lot of media speculation around me but he takes the majority of it.

"Everything he does is obviously scrutinised to a degree. I think this is what you get when you play for this club [due to] the size of the club.

"On the other hand when things are good you get a lot of praise. That's football, that's the sport that we play, there is a line that can be crossed and there are things we can do in this country to prevent that."

    Eriksen labelled 'top player'

Christian Eriksen has been labelled a top player by Brighton boss Graham Potter.

Potter said ahead of his side's season opener with United: "He’s a top player, you can see the influence he had on Brentford when he came. The quality is undeniable.

"Obviously he’s had his issues which we’re delighted that he’s come through and it’s great to see him back playing because things were not looking so positive at one point – so that’s brilliant.

"From a football perspective, he’s a great player to have in the Premier League and I’m sure he’ll do well for Manchester United.

"Hopefully we can delay that good start for a week or so! But he’s a top player."

    Conte on Man United's chances

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has refused to rule Man United out of the top four race.

He thinks United are still in the running for the coveted fourth spot despite finishing sixth last season.

While discussing the top four race, Conte explained: "And then there is United. Football is not one, more one, [equals] two. United, last season, finish sixth despite a transfer market of [Jadon] Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and [Raphael] Varane. Two seasons ago they finished second.

"They did this transfer market to try to win the league and they finished sixth. You have to pay attention in my opinion to all of these situations.

"We know that in England it is difficult to fight to win but we want to try to be competitive, to try to improve on last season and this is our target.”

    Prediction for United finish

Man United have been backed to make it into the top four this season by Rio Ferdinand.

But the Red Devils will attain the final spot in the quartet, not challenge for the title, Ferdinand admitted.

Ferdinand placed Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City ahead of his former club.

He said to William Hill: "The top four will be Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United, in that order."

    United's Ronaldo reliance revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo's impact on the pitch for Man United has been revealed.

Stats shared by Britishgambler.co.uk show that Ronaldo was responsible or 31.58 percent of the Red Devils' goals last season.

And his strikes put United third on the list of teams who were dependent on one player for goals.

Above United on the list were Tottenham who relied on Sin Heung-Min for the bulk of their goals, and Norwich, whose strikes were provided by Teemu Pukki mostly.
