Trueshan OUT of clash vs Stradivarius and a non-runner again as Frankie Dettori's ride goes huge odds-on favourite

TRUESHAN is OUT of his blockbuster clash against Stradivarius after being declared a non-runner for the third time this year.

Alan King's star stayer was all set to take on Frankie Dettori's legendary horse in the Doncaster Cup Stakes.

But again Hollie Doyle's mount was pulled out on account of the ground.

Trueshan, a winner on his last race at Goodwood, loves it soft and, with the going good to firm, good in places, it was decided today's conditions simply did not suit.

That means Stradivarius has shortened even more at the head of the market and is now the runaway 4-9 favourite to claim the £62,381 prize.

Stradivarius will have five rivals in the 2m2f Group 2 clash.

Rodrigo Diaz has been installed the 4-1 second favourite, with Nayef Road plummeting in price to 12-1 from 20s.

Alerta Roja is 20-1, just ahead of 22-1 The Grand Visir and 25-1 roughie Eagles By Day.

Trueshan was previously pulled from the Gold Cup at Ascot in June – where Stradivarius finished fourth to Subjectivist.

The five-year-old was also scratched from last month's Lonsdale Cup at York.

Although, ironically, his most recent victory came without Stradivarius in the field, after he was pulled out on account of the going.

Dettori loves Stradivarius and hopes the seven-year-old can reclaim the race he won last year.

The legendary jockey, 50, said: "I think he only does what needs to be done these days. He's been great for the sport, I love him dearly.

"He got a tremendous reception at York. He'll probably get one at Doncaster.

"He's not going to be here forever, so let's enjoy him. He's done so much for the sport. Let's hope he does the business."
