Corrie star Alison King 'splits from fiance' after lost Covid wedding

Coronation Street star Alison King has reportedly split from her fiance David Stuckey after they are said to have grown apart in the wake of their cancelled wedding.

Alison, best known for playing sharp businesswoman Carla Connor in the soap, began dating IT consultant David in 2018.

The pair had planned to wed but their ceremony in Greece had to be cancelled in March 2020 due to Covid restrictions.

The couple have now reported, although it is on good terms, a source said to The Sun.

‘Alison and David have sadly decided to separate,’ the publication was told. ‘They were very much in love for a long time but have ended up growing apart.

‘They parted amicably and both wish each other the best in the future.’

Metro.co.uk has approached representatives for Alison and they had no comment to make.

In 2019, Alison discussed the engagement after David popped the question during a trip to Portugal.

She told OK! Magazine: ‘I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going: “right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened!”‘

‘We’d also discussed marriage, too. I think we both went from “no, we don’t ever need to get married” to “oh, we really want to get married!”‘

During the same interview, Alison also addressed the nine year age-gap, saying he’s ‘already very mature’ and wanted someone with children, as he was a father himself.

Alison is currently in the midst of a new storyline after a quieter spell as Carla has been given a grim proposal from Mr Thorne, the consultant of Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) who had the power to get him charged for assault.
