EastEnders’ Tom ‘Rocky’ Cotton (Brian Conley) has had a rollercoaster relationship with love interest Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) since his arrival on the square. Upon his arrival, Rocky was keen to woo Kathy and impress her. However, after their relationship broke down due to his betrayal, neither have been able to keep away from each other and clearly still have feelings for one another. In an exclusive chat, BBC soap star Brian teased a possible reunion for the couple, could this mean a declaration of love and a proposal is on the cards?

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Brian explained: “He loves her to bits! Who wouldn’t? She’s absolutely a real diamond.

“We do gel as actors, and we do gel on screen. I hope it’s obvious that he does love her and is genuine, he just is backed up into a corner once again!”

Rocky and Kathy’s relationship got off to a flying start as they seemed smitten and couldn’t keep away from one another.

However, their relationship soon came to an abrupt end as Kathy learned of his betrayal, and he ended their relationship.

Rocky and Kathy’s relationship got off to a flying start as they seemed smitten and couldn’t keep away from one another.

However, their relationship soon came to an abrupt end as Kathy learned of his betrayal, and he ended their relationship.

Kathy had admitted to Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) that being with Rocky was the happiest she had been in a long time, to which he had overheard and became cold.

In an effort to ruin their relationship, Rocky betrayed her trust and revealed the truth about Bobby Beale’s (Clay Milner Russell) role in Lucy Beale’s (Hetti Baywater) murder to Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

Shocked to find out Rocky had betrayed her, she wasted little time setting off and tracking him down, however it was, in fact, Rocky who ended their relationship.

Ending their relationship and telling her he no longer thought she was “fun”, he left her heartbroken as she told him he wasn’t the man she thought he was.

Now Rocky is facing more pressure than ever to keep his scams against Peter and Sonia a secret, so much so he suffered a heart attack.

Rocky has been scamming Sonia into thinking he is her father in a bid to get his hands on Dot Cotton (June Brown) inheritance money, but he is actually Dotty Cotton’s (Millie Zero) uncle.

He has been trying to come up with money for Dotty as a way to help pay for her mum Sandy Gibson’s (Martha Cope) rehab.

Alongside these schemes, Rocky has also been attempting to defraud Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) with a meat-free menu scheme.

Rocky ended up involving Kathy in his meat-free burger scam and admitted to Dotty that he never wanted to get her involved.

He insists their entire plan to take Dot Cotton’s money from Sonia has spiralled completely out of control.

As he was forced to dodge requests from Peter on when he could expect the meatless product, he was caught off guard as Kathy asked him to help out at Walford East.

Dotty eventually saw Rocky unwrapping a box of meatless burgers that he managed to scrounge from the cash-and-carry rather than providing the premium product he promised the Beales.

As Rocky continues down a dark path of deceit, will Kathy be the one to pull him out as he begins to sink under pressure?

Will Kathy be able to forgive Rocky for his previous betrayal?

Could it be too late for Rocky and Kathy if his secrets and scamming of Peter and Sonia comes out?

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on BBC One.
