Ed Sheeran learnt Italian in lockdown after buying a villa in Tuscany

ED SHEERAN will be able to chat with Italy fans when he watches the Euro 2020 final at Wembley tomorrow – after teaching himself Italian during the pandemic.

The Shape Of You singer failed languages in school but became determined to learn the language in lockdown after buying a house in Umbria, central Italy.

He said: “It’s the one thing I feel I got out of it. I have a house in Italy and every time I’d gone to Italy the locals were like, ‘You haven’t learnt yet have you?’ And I’d say, ‘I will, I will.’

“I just decided I was going to do it, so I do an hour a day and I’ve done that for about ten months.”

Ed said he got to grips with conversation, then his teacher introduced the past tense.

Speaking in a new radio chat, he added: “I’m in that at the moment and it’s like a completely new language. I failed German at school, I failed French at school, I’ve never really learnt languages.

“I’ve spent the last ten years travelling the world speaking English and feeling quite embarrassed about being in all these wonderful countries and not being able to communicate, so it’s really cool.

“It feels like a key, you unlock the door and suddenly this whole world opens up to you.”

POOL-POSE J-LO IS A GOOD SHIMMER

JENNIFER LOPEZ is looking just peachy in her latest music video.

The US star put on a shimmery silver and black swimsuit and splashed about in a pool for Cambia El Paso – her new single with Puerto Rican rapper Rauw Alejandro.

Looking at the new video, it’s hard to believe the Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer turns 52 later this month.

She will no doubt be celebrating her big day with boyfriend Ben Affleck.

The couple were seen hugging and holding hands in the Hamptons, Long Island, this week – with J-Lo looking happier than ever.

When asked about their rekindled romance, she said: “I’m super happy. I know people are always wondering, ‘How are you? What’s going on? Are you OK?’ This is it. I’ve never been better.”

Bella’s checked-in

BELLA HADID is barely keeping everything in check with this shirt, which she appears to have forgotten to button up.

I’m surprised she’s had time to update her Instagram given a hectic schedule – partying at the Cannes Film Festival, modelling at Paris Fashion Week and going public with new fella, art director Marc Kalman.

S1lva's anthem

THE nation’s been cheering England on during the Euros – but rapper S1lva had another reason to hope they made it to the final.

His song, Olé, has become an unofficial anthem for the boys. He collaborated with Krept & Konan and M1llionz for the drill track to cheer on the team and even the players have got behind it.

In an exclusive chat, he said: “I spoke to Declan Rice on the DMs after one of their games.

"I was congratulating him and he showed me quite a bit of love.

“Raheem Sterling as well – he posted on his Insta with the track playing in the background. That was crazy.

"I heard about it getting played in the changing room. I need to get a video of it.”
