Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham shares surprising request she gets from men in public

Emmerdale actress Rosie Bentham has admitted that plenty of men approach her in public but it's not for the reasons you might expect.

She's played man-eater Gabby Thomas on the ITV soap since 2016, but blokes approach her for a far less raunchy reason and it involves their mums.

The actress revealed that blokes her age do not go out of their way to watch the ITV soap but will recognise her in the hopes of getting a pic for their parents.

She told The Sun: "A lot of guys my age don’t watch Emmerdale, but they’ll come up and ask me to do videos for their mums."

"It's usually when we all go out and I'm with the other cast members when I'm more likely to get recognised.

"You’ll see people next to you scrolling through your Instagram page just to check it is you”.

She also admitted that she finds it hilarious that people believe she is similar to her on-screen character with her raunchy antics, saying that she is "not like that at all".

Rosie said that instead of being the type of person to 'give everything to everyone', she needs men to really put the hard work in to get close to her.

It comes as the Emmerdale team prepares for the National Television Awards, to be broadcast on Tuesday night (September 5).

Emmerdale currently holds the title of Best Serial Drama, and Rosie said it would "mean so much" to win the award for a second consecutive year.

Rosie's co-star Lewis Cope, who plays on-screen fiancé Nicky Milligan – is also in with a shout of winning the Rising Star award.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Bentham said she was "really chuffed" for her on-screen partner-turned-worst-enemy Lewis.

"He came into the show and was immediately put into a big Home Farm story, and he did so well playing a hidden villain — even though it had Gabby crying for weeks," she said.

"He’s been so humble about being nominated. He’s so thankful to everyone who has voted him this far".

She also paid tribute to fans of the soap, who she said the actors "wouldn't have a show without".
