James Martin welcomed a variety of guests onto his Saturday Morning show this weekend. The ITV star allowed fellow chef Paul Rankin to take over his kitchen to whip up an artichoke dish. However, the cooking segment soon got sidetracked when James was called out about his outfit choice. Paul pointed out they appeared to have accidentally coordinated their looks.
Paul was in the middle of cooking when he decided to highlight the wardrobe error.
The chef remarked: “I wonder, has anyone at home noticed that James has again copied the way I’m dressed?”
“Is that right?” James replied, taken aback by the accusation.
“Look, we’re both in navy shirts with white buttons and a white t-shirt,” Paul explained.
However, James quickly pointed out there was one key difference between their outfits – the size.
He laughed: “Paul, I would love to wear a shirt like that, but I was probably 12 when I used to be able to get in a shirt like that.
“12 months I mean, not 12,” James joked.
“No!” Paul exclaimed, laughing off the chef’s self-deprecating comments.
“I couldn’t possibly get in a shirt like that,” James continued.
However, Paul insisted: “It’s the same.”
James hit back: “You’ve got half the material in your shirt than I have!”
“Well, let’s swap and see,” Paul suggested.
However, James swiftly replied: “No, I’m definitely not swapping.”
Laughing it off, the pair soon moved on with the rest of the cooking demonstration.
This wasn’t the only occasion the duo got the giggles during the segment as James was also left in hysterics when Paul highlighted a problem he was having with his glasses.
As he leaned over a hot pan the chef’s glasses instantly steamed up and he remarked: “This is the problem of cooking with glasses on.
“Help, help, help!” Paul jokingly exclaimed.
James burst out laughing, watching on as the guest chef struggled to see what he was doing.
“I’m going to invent window wipers on glasses for chefs,” Paul said.
James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs Saturdays at 9:30am on ITV.
