ADAM Barlow has been put through the wringer mentally after learning that his wife Sarah Platt was pregnant.
A usually happy occasion, Adam feared the baby could be Damon Hay's which begs the question – could he leave Coronation Street?
What happened to Adam Barlow in Coronation Street?
The solicitor played by Sam Robertson has been accustomed to drama continually unfolding in the ITV soap as he has been a part of life in the cobbles since 2001.
To top it all off, he is a member of one of the most iconic families in the Street with Corrie stalwart Ken Barlow being his grandfather.
But Adam has gone through severely troubled months as his wife Sarah Platt (portrayed by Tina O'Brien) embarked on an affair with thug Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths).
Adam was incandescent with rage when he found out and tried to confront Damon in the Bistro.

However, things took another turn when Sarah learned she was pregnant and had no clue who the father could be.
He then made it clear – they would only be keeping the baby if he was the father.
Determined to stop Damon from stirring up trouble in his marriage, Adam turned to dangerous criminal Niall and told him his rival was planning to grass on him to the police.
After finding out he was on Niall's potential hit list, Damon fled from the cobbles and tried to reach out to Sarah in vain.

Is Adam Barlow leaving Coronation Street?
In recent scenes of the Manchester-based drama, Adam was worried to find out that a local criminal had been killed as he feared Damon lost his life and he could be pushed into the spotlight as the one responsible for his death.
Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) agreed, in his own way, to keep his involvement with Niall a secret but Adam was perhaps not expecting the ordeal to take a huge toll on his mental health.
Adam was seen suffering from debilitating panic attacks in court and in the Street itself.
Knowing her other half has been struggling, Sarah lied and told him she was certain he was the father after getting a phone call announcing paternity test results.
Unbeknownst to Adam this was a lie and when he revealed the good news to a doubtful Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) he realised he would need the test results in writing.
Sarah tried to escape the possibility of Damon being the father of her child until her uncle Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) made her face the music.
Damon was confirmed to be the baby's father, leaving a distraught Sarah to tell Adam the truth.
But Stephen butted in again by coming up with a brand new letter announcing Adam as the biological father of the child.
With secrets and lies never truly staying under wraps for good in the cobbles, viewers have been expecting Sarah to come clean about Damon and her baby.
Some fans have taken things a step further by speculating Adam will leave the long-running show.
Speaking about the storyline, actor Sam Robertson also hinted this could be the end for Adam as his anxiety becomes harder to handle.
"It's tough and it's challenging to play out but it's important to show how stress can get on top of anyone. It's a tough time for Adam – he's fighting off issues left, right and centre", the soap star said.
"He's overwhelmed by the stress of it all and it suddenly catches up with him at work."
"Everything just seems to be imploding but he's his own boss, he knows he can't just check out and have a week off to get his head straight, but he's struggling to work through it."
