Earlier this month it was revealed Bautista will be teaming up with James Bond star Daniel Craig once again in a future movie. The whodunit film, Knives Out 2, features Craig as deep-south detective Benoit Blanc for the second time. In the thriller, Bautista will play one of the suspects in the upcoming murder-mystery film. The Army of the Dead and Blade Runner 2049 actor recently spoke out about teaming up with Craig once again, before reminiscing about his own Bond movie.

Bautista played Mr Hinx in the 2015 movie, Spectre, the best assassin the titular terrorist organisation had on their payroll.

This required Bautista to face off against Craig a few times in the film, however, Bautista has now revealed he wasn’t thrilled the entire time he was filming.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter he said: “Yes, I am excited to be working with Daniel again.

“And I’m excited that it will be in a much, much less stressful environment because being on a Bond film is just hard.”

Bautista continued: “It’s just stressful. It’s just long days. Logistically, it’s a nightmare.

“You’re just moving from country to country to country. It’s just a long and slow process.”

The film included scenes all over the world, including London, Tangier, Austria and the Sahara.

Bautista added: “I think Spectre shot for almost a year. My role wasn’t extensive, but I was on the film for eight months. So it’s just a long, long process.”

Despite Bautista coming away from the 007 movie thinking it was a “nightmare”, he has spoken fondly of his time working with the British actor.

Speaking to The Telegraph in 2015, Bautista revealed: “There were lots of bumps and bruises. Dan punched me in the nose.”

He also spoke fondly of his character being intelligent, and more like a real threat than just a set of muscles.

He explained to Entertainment Weekly: “First time we talked about the character. Only two questions I asked [director Sam Mendes].”

Bautista went on: “[Mendes] told me Hinx was a member of this organisation Spectre. I was really apprehensive that he was just going to be someone’s right-hand man, standing there, opening doors.

“So I said: ‘Is Mr. Hinx a badass?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Is Mr. Hinx intelligent?’ He said: ‘Oh yes.’ Those were the two things I needed answered.

“But I wasn’t expecting the elegant wardrobe, the very manicured look.

“He was going to let me portray him as very carefree — not a care in the world. Because nobody’s more badass than him! [Laughs] He’s not insecure about anything because he’s the man!”

Despite not wanting to be one of the generic lackeys from a standard action film, Bautista changed his tune in Spectre.

He went on: “For another film, I might not use the word henchman. But for Bond, I will proudly.

“Bond henchmen are iconic. The way Hinx is portrayed is awesome. There’s nothing subservient about him. He’s on a mission. He’s smart. It’s great!”

James Bond Spectre is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

James Bond No Time To Die is due out on September 30, 2021.
