Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney’s sweet reason for joining I’m A Celeb again

Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney have revealed they both have the very sweet same reason for re-entering the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

On Tuesday night, former EastEnders actors Joe and Dean will enter the South African camp alongside other famous faces including fellow soap stars Helen Flanagan and Andy Whyment.

And both stars are vowing to make their children proud as they return to the hit ITV reality show for its first ever "all stars" series.

Joe, 41, won the eighth series of the show in 2008 and is now married to former Queen of the Jungle Stacey Solomon.

The pair met in Australia in 2010 when Stacey starred on the reality show and Joe hosted its spin-off programme Extra Camp. However, they didn't start dating until 2016.

He is dad to son Harry, 16, from a previous relationship and son Rex, three, and daughters Rose, one and Belle, who was born in February, with Stacey.

Meanwhile, 45-year-old Dean finished in fifth place on the sixth series in 2006 and is father to twin daughters Charlotte and Chloe, 27, from his relationship with Sarah Burge, from whom he split in 2015.

Speaking ahead of his return to camp, Joe said: "My eldest son Harry was one when I did the jungle and he is 16 now.

"I want the kids to watch I’m a Celebrity…South Africa and for both of us to be able to tell them, ‘I’m A Celebrity is where Mummy and Daddy met’. The jungle is always going to be a big part of our family.

"I can’t express enough my gratitude for the fact I met Stacey on the back of it, had my kids and it gave me a whole different direction with my career.

"Doing the All-Stars series is closure. It finishes the circle," he continued.

Dean – who is best known for playing Robbie Jackson on the hit BBC soap – admits that his main aim this time is to not embarrass his daughters.

He said: "My daughters were 10 when I did the Australian jungle and they didn’t care if I screamed or not.

"They are 27 now and I think if I was screaming they’d be a bit embarrassed. Every year, my trial gets wheeled out as one of the best moments. Even if I want to forget it, I can’t.

"I don’t know what to expect this time round. I’m just really looking forward to what South Africa is going to bring."

Hosts Ant and Dec teased that Joe and Dean will enter the show via "the most disgusting trial ever" named Flipping Disgusting.

I'm A Celebrity… South Africa continues nightly at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
