Meghan Markle wanted to get away from the limelight with Prince Harry and son Archie so decided to move away from the UK. The former Suits star has been interested in returning to Hollywood, so is her first role after marrying the Duke of Sussex in NCIS Los Angeles?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from NCIS Los Angeles.

NCIS Los Angeles had been missing from our screens on CBS for almost a month but luckily, the wait came to an end yesterday (Sunday, February 14).

The drama returned with an episode called The Frogman’s Daughter with plenty of focus being paid on Agent Sam Hanna (played by LL Cool J) looking for his daughter who had been kidnapped.

Agent Callen (Chris O’Donnell) was also trying to find more answers regarding girlfriend Anna (Bar Paly) as he discovered she had been lying about taking part in a volunteer project.

While all of this was going on though, some fans were left very distracted by a surprising guest.

Is Meghan Markle in NCIS LA season 12?

During the upbeat episode, NCIS Los Angeles’ headquarters had a visit from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The person who was given the job of checking up on the team was DHS Agent Megan Merkel (Tiffany Smith).

Unfortunately, it wasn’t actually Meghan Markle herself appearing on the show but the writers were clearly having a bit of fun with the character’s name.

Viewers even had to do a double-take as the actress behind Merkel is the spitting image of the Duchess.

Actress Tiffany Smith has a very clear resemblance to Meghan Markle so it’s no surprise she was hired for this role.

She also has prior experience of playing the royal as she starred as Markle in Lifetime’s movie Harry and Meghan: Becoming Royal in 2019.

Smith has had small roles in shows such as Supernatural, Jane the Virgin and Into The Dark.

She is going to be starring in upcoming mini-series Masters of the Universe: Revelation as Andra.

Meghan Markle has express interest in getting back into the world of entertainment but more so behind the camera this time.

In April last year, Markle landed a voice-over role in Disney+’s Elephant documentary.

After this, the Duke and Duchess signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 to create original documentaries and TV shows under their new production company.

However, the couple is bound to have other things on their mind following their announcement on Valentine’s Day.

Megan Markle is expecting her second child with Prince Harry.

The couple released a black and white photograph of them both with to mark the special occasion.

This comes just a few months after she revealed to the New York Times that she had suffered a miscarriage in July 2020.

As of yet, no details regarding her due date have been revealed.

NCIS Los Angeles is available to watch on CBS.
