Viewers of The Chase were in for a delightful surprise on Monday (November 13) as they spotted a clever detail about the contestants' names.

Host Bradley Walsh wasted no time introducing the players for the day – Richard, Tracy, Nancy, and Drew, who were set to take on the formidable Chaser, Paul The Sinnerman Sinha. While Bradley couldn't resist making a playful remark about one of the contestants, he inadvertently missed the real gem that had fans at home buzzing.

Viewers at home were quick to notice the lineup of contestant names, and it didn't take long for them to connect the dots. Richard's name, often shortened to Dick, when combined with Tracy, created the famous detective's moniker, Dick Tracy. Following suit, the next two names spelled out the name of a teenage wonder detective and the star of her own book series, Nancy Drew.

One viewer on Twitter couldn't help but applaud the clever wordplay, commenting: “#thechase have done the old name game again. Richard Tracy Nancy Drew.” Another chimed in with: "Dick Tracy, Nancy Drew. #thechase producers strike again,” as a third echoed: “Nancy Drew and Dick Tracy. Love when #thechase does this with contestants.”

When Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha was introduced as the Chaser of the day, he didn't miss a beat and immediately acknowledged the unique lineup of names. He humorously quipped, "Let's get this out of the way, firstly, great performance, but what Bradley hasn't noticed is we've got one of those teams again, Nancy, Drew, and Richard, better known as Dick Tracy.

"We have a crime-fighting team on our hands today." Bradley, now in on the joke, looked over at the panel of names and chuckled, saying, "Ah, of course, brilliant."

However, not all viewers had initially caught on to the quirky names, as one confessed on Twitter, "I didn't notice either, Brad." Another added: "Glad to see I'm not the only one who clocked Dick Tracy and Nancy Drew."

Nancy and Tracey both bagged impressive amount in their cash builder round but didn't make it to the final after being booted off by Paul. This left Richard and Drew to go up against Paul in the Final Round.

They were competing for £7,000 but weren't good enough to defeat the master quizzer.
