The third series of hit ITV show The Masked Singer has got everyone talking this week, but viewers have been left stumped on Poodle’s identity after Sunday’s spectacular show.
Guesses about who the unidentified voice could belong to have spanned from Gino D’Acampo to Paul O’Grady, but one TikToker is convinced that he has cracked the code.
Student Matthew Seaman, who has over 24,000 followers on TikTok, successfully guessed Joss Stone as Sausage in the last season of the show and has since been commended for his Sherlock-like abilities
After posting a video revealing his initial speculations on this year’s celebs, several of Matthew’s followers commented that they thought Take That frontman Gary Barlow was the voice of the playful pup.
However, Matthew soon dismissed this theory and claimed that Poodle is instead singer Tom Chaplin from British pop-rock band Keane.
The band achieved international success and a BRIT Award after the release of their debut album, which featured two top-ten singles including the hit Everybody’s Changing.
The first clue Matthew picked up on was that a clapperboard shown at the beginning of Poodle’s introduction read ‘Take H&F’. He believes this is a reference to the band’s 2004 album Hopes and Fears.
In another clip, dog collars with the names of four former queens were displayed. Poodle said this was a reference to something they have “always admired”.
Matthew then noted that Tom Chaplin has been very vocal about his admiration for the band Queen and even performed a tribute show to Freddie Mercury at the London Palladium.
Matthew further speculated that the four dog collars could represent the four band members of Keane.

By far the simplest clue Matthew picked up on was Poodle claiming they are “very eager”, with a synonym for eager being keen.
And while other TikTok users guessed that Poodle’s hint about long walkies could be a reference to Keane’s hit song Somewhere Only We Know, Matthew believes this tip-off may be related to Chaplin’s cover of Walking in the Air.
Clearly convinced by his clever theory, One of Matthew’s followers commented: “God you’re good!”, with another saying: “I love your clue busting.”
Meanwhile, fans on Twitter believe Matthew could be on to something as they picked up on Poodle’s recent song choice of Elton John’s Rocket Man – pointing out that when Tom went to rehab in 2006, he revealed Elton had reached out to him to offer support and advice.
One of the first singers to be unmasked last week was Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford, who competed against Poodle as Snow Leopard.
Ten singers now remain in the competition, but one more is set to be unmasked this weekend. Bring it on!
