Shocking moment Michigan vs Michigan State football game descends into chaos as fans smash windscreen of overturned car

SHOCKING footage shows football fans smashing a window of an overturned car before brawling with each other after a game on Saturday afternoon.

Fans attending the Michigan vs Michigan State game also showcased the unconventional celebration tradition as couches were set alight after MSU's win.

In a tweet, Drew Goretzka, an investigative reporter for The State Newspaper at Michigan State, posted a video of the chaotic event with the caption: "A vehicle has been flipped. Students currently celebrating atop and kicking in the windshield."

In the video, several students in Michigan State paraphernalia can be seen attempting to kick in the windshield of an overturned vehicle as more stood on top of the vehicle.

In the same video, an unidentified man attempts to stop the melee, pushing the vandals away from the car shouting "What the f**k is wrong with you? That's someone's car."

The activities are receiving mixed reviews on social media.

One user tweeted: "If that kid doesn’t get arrested with such a clear shot of his face, something is wrong."

Another said: "College football Saturday in East Lansing. This is apparently the part they edit out of College Gameday."

The Lansing State Journal also reported that more than 30 fires were burning in the aftermath of the game.

However, seeing fires, particularly ones involving couches, is not a new sight in Lansing after a win.

In fact, it's a long-time gameday tradition at MSU – one that authorities are trying to eradicate, WILX-TV reports.

There have been no reported injuries, East Lasing police told The Sun.

The department is working with other local authorities to identify those involved in the car incident.
