A Place In The Sun’s Laura addresses ‘tough’ homeschooling after new lockdown enforced

Laura Hamilton discusses struggle of teaching children at home

A Place In The Sun host Laura Hamilton, 38, shares seven-year-old son Rocco and daughter Tahlia, five, with her husband Alex Goward. Following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s recent lockdown three announcement, parents and guardians have been forced to homeschool their children as schools across England remain close due to a surge in coronavirus cases.

Today was my first day and it is tough.

Admitting homeschooling had been hard so far, Laura took to her Instagram story to detail the situation.

She said: “B****y hell, I know I’m not alone and I know I’m not the only working parent who is homeschooling, I know there are so many out there who are having to do this.

“But, today was my first day and it is tough.

“It’s tough because Rocco and Tahlia’s school are doing some virtual lessons, which are fantastic, however when you only have one computer and they need it for their school work, what do you do?

“I’m lucky I have even one computer, I know some people out there who don’t have any electronic devices at all, so what do you do?

“I mean it’s crazy isn’t it, but we all need to stay home and all need to stay safe.

“The juggle is real.”

Laura captioned her post: “#homeschool #juggle #stressedout.”

She also added a relatable picture from her day of her homeschooling to her Instagram story.

She was seen jokingly holding onto her hair appearing stressed as she sat alongside her daughter, who was working from a laptop.

Today, the property expert gave fans a further update about her second day homeschooling.

She told fans she was proud of her son for getting ready on his own this morning.

The presenter then panned the camera around to Rocco making his own breakfast as she prepared for a home workout.

Laura regularly interacts with her fans on her social media page.

Last month, she began an Instagram live with former buyers on A Place In The Sun.

During her chat with buyers Nick and Pauline, Laura said house hunters used to be disappointed when they got her instead of Jasmine Harman for house hunting.

Her admission came after Nick and Pauline said they had put their names down for the show after meeting Jasmine and Jonnie Irwin at A Place In The Sun’s live event in Birmingham.

“That must have been funny,” Laura interjected. “Because if I was new to the show, you obviously didn’t know who I was.”

She added: “I had only just joined [A Place In The Sun].

“I can tell you when I joined, the disappointment in people’s faces when they turned up to film with me.

“They were like, ‘Oh no. We haven’t got Jasmine? We haven’t got Jonnie? Who are you?'”

Laura continued: “I remember those days. I remember them well. I can’t believe I’m still here.”

A Place In The Sun continues today at 3pm on Channel 4.
