Susanna Reid fans were left taken-aback when the Good Morning Britain presenter shared a snap with her 80 year old mum Sue Smith.

The TV broadcast journalist was celebrating her 51st birthday and enjoying some mum and daughter bonding time as they posed for a selfie – then sharing the joy on her Instagram page.

Susanna, who was left in tears during an interview on GMB earlier this week, captioned her sweet post: “THANK YOU! To my lovely Mum for 51 years (and to my Daddy too!)

“And to everyone who has sent gorgeous birthday messages,” the mum-of-three added.

In the picture, it appeared the two women were having a lovely lunchtime chat as they sat at the kitchen table one one of their homes.

In the background, there were a large set of skylights and an industrial-style clock on the wall.

Going makeup-free and showing off her natural brunette locks for the occasion, Susanna leaned in and grinned next to her mum.

Sue styled her hair in a straight short bob and opted to wear a grey turtleneck top and bright pink jumper over the top for the festivities.

Friends and fans took to the comments to share their appreciation for the TV host on her birthday along with noticing how similar they looked.

Doctor Amir Khan wrote: “Oh she is gorgeous!! Happy birthday!"

“Happy Birthday & hello Mum,” Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury posted.

Another fan observed: “Beautiful picture definitely your twin happy birthday Suzanne.”

While a fan couldn’t ignore the striking resemblance between the pair and declared: “Wow you both look the same beautiful ladies.”
