Television presenter Melanie Sykes has taken to her Instagram, revealing to fans that she has now reunited with her Italian boyfriend. The former Loose Women star and her younger boyfriend are currently enjoying a romantic holiday in Venice.

Melanie, 51, and Riccardo Simionato, 24, met in the beautiful Italian city of Venice last year, where Riccardo works as a gondolier.

Now, it appears that the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant is still madly in love with her Italian hunk, admitting that he owns her heart.

Melanie’s trip comes just days after she revealed that she will be stepping away from television, having found fame almost three decades ago.

Making the most of her birthday celebrations, the star who is competing on Celebrity MasterChef jetted out to the popular destination to round up her birthday.

Now, it appears that Melanie is leaving Venice behind and heading back to Britain, where she will have to be tested for coronavirus, on or before, her second day back in England.

Ahead of her departure from Italy, Melanie must also take a test three days before she departs the European destination.

In view of her 284,000 Instagram followers, the Ashton-under-Lyne born presenter shared a snap of her taking a picture of the beautiful scenery.

She captioned her post: “Ciao, for now, beautiful Venice, you & your people have my heart @ricky_simionato, amore, @francescodamosto @vale_d.m.l.”

Melanie’s boyfriend, Riccardo, previously addressed their relationship and wasn’t phased by their age gap.

He told the Mail On Sunday: “Beauty is relative. Maybe what in your eyes is beautiful, isn’t to me.

“Every person is different, nationality doesn’t matter. True, no?”

While a source close to Melanie told new! Magazine: “Mel’s hopeful this is her happy ending — she’s in love with Ricky.”

Earlier this week, Melanie said she was “stepping away” from her showbiz career in order to focus on other ventures.

She said: “At the end of April this year I stepped away from television after filming 3 different projects on the bounce, which you will see over the coming months.

“It became apparent that I have outgrown it in so many ways which I will discuss in detail in the future.”

Melanie went on to explain: “That said, I hope you enjoy the shows.”

The star went on to say: “Some are just pure ‘entertainment’, some important.

“The decision to step away was very easy for me as after two years of being editor of The Frank magazine I have found my calling creatively & through this I have reconnected with who I am, what I believe in and what I am good at.”

Ahead of her announcement, Melanie had filmed a series of programmes, including Shop Well for Less with Joanna Page.

As well as this Melanie will appear on Celebrity MasterChef on Monday, in the hope of becoming the 2021 champion.
