Make your loo roll last longer using this clever and super simple hack.

The tip was shared on Facebook by a mum who was sick and tired of her children wasting toilet paper, which is bad for the environment and her purse strings.

If you squash the roll flat before putting it on the holder, it becomes impossible for it to spin out of control, meaning your kids will use less.

The woman demonstrated with photos that show her pushing the roll flat before placing it on the holder.

Alongside the snaps, she teased: "Kids home from school? Going through toilet paper faster than usual?"

The hack was heralded as genius by commenters who rushed to praise the woman for her share.

"This would be perfect for us, my daughter pulls it, and it comes off. Then she calls me because the toilet paper is running out," one mum laughed.

However, many women said that they would be using the hack to save paper that their partner wastes instead of the kids.

One commenter wrote: "I will do this for my husband, I hear the toilet roll holder and just cringe.'

And if you want to double upgrade your loo roll game, why not combine this hack with another tip shared online.

Keep your bathroom smelling fresh by applying a few drops of essential oil to the cardboard roll of your loo paper.

This hack was shared on an Australian Facebook page by a Mum who insisted the technique kept her bathroom fresh “even with five males living in the house”.

She explained: “If using essential oils (can be any but I personally use Doterra) place one drop of your chosen scent into the cardboard holder inside the toilet paper roll.”

She then continued, saying, that: “I currently have a fresh scent of tea tree going on in all three bathrooms, and I have five males in the house… winning!'

The woman was also sure to remind other Facebook users that there was no need to apply the oils to the tissue paper, as the scent is easily strong enough when put onto the cardboard directly.
