Everton stars Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun turned into characters for Angry Birds Evolution

THREE Everton stars are crowing after becoming the first Premier League footballers to be turned into Angry Birds characters.

Goodison Lark heroes Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun will surely fly up up the pecking order for popularity with young Toffees fans following their selection for a new mobile version of the popular video game.

The trio have all been given traits to match what the game-makers believe are their distinctive features.

So former England attacker Walcott is a yellow bird – the fastest characters in Angry Birds Evolution.

Iceland midfielder Sigurdsson will be a tough chap showing off Nordic heritage.

Disappointingly, though, there seems no mention of his accuracy from set-pieces, nothing about his finch-perfect delivery.

And the bird of Turkey striker Tosun will also display his cultural roots, plus natural finishing instincts – presumably, his gull-scoring ability.

But for the Toffees triumvirate it is a revolution as much as an evolution – because their characters are only available until Monday, August 27.

They will be "extra-rare five-star birds" in the famous game from Rovio Entertainment, where multi-coloured birds protect their eggs from green pigs.

Angry Birds have sponsored Everton's shirt sleeves for the past two seasons.

And Walcott, in particular, seems trilled by the latest twist in his career.

The chirpy ex-Arsenal wideman said: "Angry Birds is one of the biggest names in gaming and I am very happy to be one of the first three football players in the world to have my own personalised playable character.

'It's been really interesting to work with Rovio to shape my character and see the work that goes on behind the scenes to bring it to life."

Now you're squawking, Theo!
